Longshore remake with working bridge door While Timmy has been busy with Citidel I have finally had time to get back to working on my longshore remake, the reason i was making it was because I failed to find a longshore reamkes that was acurate in scale/size/position with all crates present and with railings, the few i have seen are missing one or all of the above, the map has come a long way in the last 2 days and I will be doing my best to have it slayer ready for a test run by tomorrow and all finished with all gametypes by the weekend, fingers crossed :-D as always it would be good to hear any opinions
Impressive remake but.. Are there any floatation devices under the dock? But in all seriousness, it looks great. You could also use a min/max switch to make it so that you can open the bridge from the control room as well (if you haven't already).
Do want. Longshore never got the attention it deserved. Off-topic, but for your next map, make a Waterworks-reimagination. It would look sweet, and that map needs remaking (along with standoff and snowbound).
@Plasma Blades yep thats what i'm hoping to do I did want to add the dinghies... it may still happen lol @newbieninja2 I'm using the door in the last 3 pics, you go to the switch and touch it, a shild wall stops you from getting hurt, the door falls open and you run through @The Trivial Prodigy I think Longshore was a great map, but lots of people didnt get to play it much, it never seemed to come up in matchmaking, interesting that its hevily based on hang em high/tombstone with a building in the middle, i had never noticed that until i read it then it all became so obvious
Well this certainly doesn't capture the visual style of longshore. Of cpurse, i don't think you really could do that in Forge. This does look like a pretty solid remake. TP, the reason why none of those maps have been remade is that making an even halfway decent remake in forge would be impossible.
This is a solid remake.... the sizing is spot on and feels right, crates and structures really capture longshore and I think this will play great big team objective (assault I enjoyed on halo 3). I really like how you have captured the blue room....Has all come together nicely. solid remake. In size this would not of been a map I would have taken on, and I really thought it near on impossible to capture such a massive map.
Impressive sir! I do believe the Boiler Room could use a little attention if you have any budget left. I would sure like to see some aesthetics in there. Maybe even a Fronk! Please?
Well, I'm glad I got as lazy as I did... lol. Your remake is better than mine anyways. Please just make the weapons as accurate as possible. Dropshield where bubbleshield was. Jetpack where grav lift was, etc.
lol yea i felt the same with my Turf remake when i saw Outskirts, thank god i had only done about 5% of it all my reameakes copy the orginal spawn points pointing in the exact same angle, weapons + clip + spawn times and exact original objective locations, shape, size, timing, order, etc etc (exception my warlock remake where i swapped the shotguns to needle rifles) I agree with dropshield, but i am a hater of jetpacks so im not 100% sure of jetpack for grav....ive been thinking a lot about a grav lift replacement, I hate jetpackers, especially on maps with rockets for the obvious reasons (JP+Rocket=no skill) that said i havnt thought of a better replacement so i expect it will go that way ;-)
I tried old timey and next gen they were both ok, but i wont be including them in the final release as they are easy to add yourself also just a general update, wont be relasing this tonight as im tired zzz lol but construction is 95%+ complete i hope to have a full 1st relase ready by tomorrow night if all goes to plan :-D
Very nice looking and very accurate looking. I attempted this myself but couldn't manage to get the portions right, so I gave up. Glad I did too, cause this would have blown it out of the water. Good luck and HURRY UP.
Hello, well the map is now looking almost ready. Hope you manage to get the door working.... was really bugging me that the box kept respawning.... if it still disappears set to respawn never, would it help increasing to max respawn time, and open up gives 3 min of access. Personally I think the boxes are glitching as they often double up and I would suggest remaking all boxes all set to never respawn and that should work. Looking forward to test phase.

DT: I just love your maps! They always have everything from their predecessors, and they just fit. You are a mastermind of clean forging, I truly mean it, and your maps always look like real maps. The tiny specs of accuracy that one loses in your maps compared to say, a map by Overkill or TheBlazeJP, are regained tenfold by how beautiful your maps. You and Timmy make a great pair too One thing I would like to see from you guys would be a terrain Big Team Map, such as Relic or Timberland, because I really want to see how you two would work with the natural environment. A keen fan, ~ Random1
