...after passing a certain point? Ive made a CTF map that takes you through a race course to the center of the battle which is Hemorrhage (blood gulch) where Ive built two bases in the middle of the map opposite each other. Obviously, ive put the flag spawns in each, and the capture plates in their rightful places too. Therefore, id like the players to be able to spawn in their bases when they complete the "course" as I dont want them starting it all over again.

PS: I also cant seem to get CTF mode working either.

The question here seems overly simple, so I'm probably missing something, but here goes a shot in the dark:

Simply put Starting Spawn Points where you want all the players to spawn, and then re-spawn points where you want the players to respawn, or, as you've stated, in their base.

As for getting "CTF mode" to work, there could be a few problems. First, you have to select the gametype you're wanting to edit in forge. This time, it's going to be Capture the Flag. Then you have to put the Flag spawns down, and the Flag score points down. After that, it should work when you boot it up.

Now, there's a lot more to be said on my thoughts on the subject, but you didn't ask for those, so I'll keep them to myself.

If you have any questions about how to setup CTF, you should consult the Awesome Guide's CTF section.

But I am a bit confused. Are you using a race game type that you want to morph into CTF, or is this CTF with a race course to get to the base?

Its a CTF with a race course. Eg, you start at the top of the map, far away from the objective, you work your way to the bottom by doing the course. When finishing the course, say the player died at the base/objective, I would not want them spawning at the very start of the course again.

Like RST said, place initial spawn points at the top of the racetrack so players will spawn there when the game starts. Then, put respawn points in the bases so that once players die they will respawn there. For CTF simply put a flag stand where you want each flag to be, assigned to that team, and with the 'ctf_flag_return" label.

Keep in mind that if players die before or along the course, they'll basically get to skip to the end.

Ya, I would think you would want them to respawn at the beginning, but then that presents other problems...

Yeah this is what I dont want, is there a way to somehow directly edit the maps tags on the pc using usb transfer? I could edit the tag of a hill on ctf to make it a checkpoint. It would be very useful.

What you are talking about is way outside the scope of forge. This is where I bow out of the conversation...

That kind of edit is impossible, and if it were possible, it would be modding.

Ok, so is there any way to do it at all?

343 would have to make up a new game type to support the game play flow you are describing. And I doubt they would see it worth the investment, as most forgers would never build maps for this type of game play.
