Mercury Forged by Seven Oh Three and Unoverrated In halo 3, we had construct. Now we've got Mercury. A classic vertical fragfest, all forged up just for you. The map itself is inspired by many vertical maps such as Cstruct, Countdown, and Colossus. Vertical maps need jetpacks and lifts, we got um. 2 Vents, 1 Cannon, and 2 Jetpacks can take you to the top in a flash. The map is fairly big but not too big, every part of the map is used. Every 4v4 I had on here has been a blast, and it's sad to see that a great map like this isn't getting noticed since you posted all your maps at the goddamn same time. One thing I noticed about this map, though, is that it's got the same movement issue that Reflection does. Most of your ramps and lifts point towards Rocket side, so most of a game's traffic will revolve around that area, much like Sniper on Reflection. However, on Reflection, Back Hardwood doesn't have very much cover, and that's for a good reason. Back Hardwood, like Sniper spawn on this map, is very separated from the overall flow, and since you gave sniper spawn a good amount of cover, that area can become pretty powerful. It's hard to say if that's a good thing or a bad thing, but it's just an observation.
Great map, i will give this map a definite download. Might want to fix the download link on the top of this page and the bottom. The top link leads to your map conduit instead of the map mercury, and the bottom link should lead straight to that map and not your fileshare. Just a suggestion.
Thanks for catching that, MLG doesnt have those weird rules. It's easier for me to just use my Fileshare link, especially when updating my sig.
I must start out with; This is a very well designed map! But, there are a few things that stick out to me when I was looking around it. One, is the waterfall in the background. Now, I'm sure you know that is relatively annoying to play a map with that thing in the background, when you've got a Turtle Beach/Astro, which is problems with other good maps, like Aztec and Annex. >.< Also, another thing is, the Evade bridge blocks vision to Rockets. Which to me, would hamper the game later on, but this is just a take from me. Note; I haven't played on this map yet, don't really have the players on my list in order to do so. This is just coming from long, drawn out run around's that I do often to maps I like. :3 Edit: Also, I saw that you can get on those Struts next to the Sniper lift. Might I add, adding a little jump to top snipe might be interesting~ :3 *Brick'd* MLG Territories would be mighty fun, I'd say, on this map.
Weird rules my butt! Just a question; is this supposed to remind me of a somewhat cramped version of Colossus? I am normally not a fan of much height variation at all (ask Kuroda, I refuse to play his maps sometimes because of it,) and this holds the balance of "Nice, kinda high, but not too tall" which I appreciate. A lot. But yeah, cool map and whatnot. Reminds me of Colossus. Etc.
I usually don't comment on MLG maps, but yours are just amazing. Very cleanly forged, and very fun to play on as well. One suggestion, though; for S1, I'd flip the Bunkers, Box upside down so it is more solid. But other than that, it looks great. postyourmapsincompetitive. youdeservemoreviews.
