This. Bungie said they wanted it to not be full price, but apparently microsoft thought otherwise. On the other hand, 343 said that it is not going to be full price. So I'm not worried. Also considering ODST had 2 discs and Halo CEA only has one.
Actually it was Certain Affinity who made the Defiant, 343 just oversaw the project. However, I remain hopeful about how these maps will turn out. Whether they'll work with the Reach mechanic is questionable, but I'm not concerned about them being rushed. On the note of then working or not, I'm keen to see exactly what these vague comments of 'tweaked' gameplay to give a more classic feel amount to. I doubt it'll be anything extreme, but hopefully its more than some gametypes which are possible now, since that wouldn't seem worth mentioning, let alone leaving an air of suspense around.
Have you ever pre-ordered a game before? I pre-ordered the halo 3 Legendary pack 10 months before it's release.
The idea behind a pre-order: to claim a copy of a game when the launch date roles around. Most effective when used in coalition with titles from franchises such as Halo and Call of Duty.
In any matter, just because they're saying 39.99 now doesn't mean it can't go up, there are 5 months in between now and release.
Gamestop/Amazon can't boost up the price on pre-orders. What you order it for is what you get. They wouldn't say a price without it getting confirmed by Microsoft. (Directly)
I'm saying it's not definite at this point in time, things can still be added to the game that would warrant microsoft raising the price. Though I'm also not saying that it's likely that it will be raised, its not an absolute that it will be 39.99.
I'd say if retailers are listing pre-order prices for it, it's pretty definite. Retail price is the last thing to be determined in the life cycle of a game. I mean there is always the off chance the game is delayed and at that point the price point could be re-evaluated but once a price is known...that's pretty much the price.
Book thing again because I certainly don't remember the part where I picked up a cryo chamber and lobbed it out into space during the game. Did you not realize that your 'evidence' argued more for my logic than yours?
No one said anything about the Chief picking up a cryo chamber and hurling it into space. The POAs systems jettisoned the cryo chamber with Linda in it automatically, John had nothing to do with it. And after the game ended, the book picked up the story and had the Longsword with John and Cortana in it (the one from the end of the game) intercept the cryo chamber with Linda in it. Not hard to understand, mate.
