I know the structure we see is forerunner, but I also want to point out the similiarities between it and the top of the High Charity structure.
"From the Covenant's earliest recorded history, the San 'Shyuum ended their civil war by launching the Forerunner Dreadnought from their home planet Janjur Qom along with a chunk of rock. This chunk would later be built into High Charity. The city was erected during the Sangheili-San 'Shyuum War and completed following the war's conclusion. The Forerunner Dreadnought that the San 'Shyuum used in the war was stripped of all known weapons and permanently installed inside High Charity." This is the dreadnaught. Everything else is covenant tech.
Much of the covenant tech is reverse engineered from forerunner tech, so a lot of it could appear similar.
Well, its definitely not a Covenant planet. I'd put my money on it being a Dyson Sphere/Shield World and have something to do with Halsey and the remnants of the Spartan team that were with her at the end of the Ghosts of Onyx novel.
Covenant tech IS forerunner tech. The prophets integrated forerunner tech into their knowledge and the Sangheili worshiped it. Even that paragraph just explained that High Charity still is a forerunner dreadnaught...it just so happens that it was stripped down and part of a planet was slapped onto it. Also I don't think the things from Halo 3 were ever confirmed as forerunner dreadnaughts...more like forerunner atmospheric reentry ships.
Once again you guys are comparing the events in the games to events in the books that were written by completely different people with completely different objectives in mind. If you really want to keep down this road perhaps you can explain why there isn't a second spartan in CE since apparently John's spartan lady friend was in cryo on the ship with him in the books.
You're assuming that there is no interaction between the books and the games. The books were written based on Bungie's internal "story bible." Source. There was a ton of artistic interpretation, to be sure, but it is extremely safe to assume there is interplay between the two canonical universes. If there weren't, you wouldn't have Halsey, you wouldn't have Reach, so on and so forth. In fact, I'd go as far as to say you shouldn't discount anything represented in the books (or lines of thinking influenced thereof) until it is directly contradicted by the games. It's common sense. So again, stop arguing about petty nonsense, all of you.
Pretty sure it was stated within Halo 3 that the ship the Prophet/MC escaped on was the dreadnaught. It was definitely referred to as the Forerunner ship, and when we know that High Charity is built around a Forerunner dreadnaught and then we see that, you can put 2 and 2 together without it really bring called conjecture. @ bolded, no he isn't. He's simply saying that book canon isn't always adhered to perfectly in the games, demonstrated by the example he gave, so basing your logic on it is reasonable but not certainly correct. And this 'petty nonsense' is pretty much all there is to discuss right now in terms of Halo 4, seeing as all we have to base discussion off is one brief trailor and canon.
Well, I actually heard news that they (343i) are going to explain the reason to MCs change in armour aesthetics and that, apparently, he's going to have a change of personality. Source. So now we have something else to speculate about. I really hope this doesnt mean he's going to be chattier than a bored housewife on speed, because that would ruin his whole "badass" persona. Sure, it might be nice for him to have some kind of body language or speak a little but more, but if they change him too much it may not be as immersive as the previous games. I think the reason people like Chief so much is because of the fact that he doesnt speak much, and the people playing add their own commentary and thoughts, basically "filling the void" of dialogue with their own persona. Changing this formula, for better or worse, will have some interesting side effects, no doubt.
Refreshing Halo CE is the best decision 343 could make before releasing an entirely new Halo Sequel. Sorry if this has been said a million times. I am really excited to see how forge will be implemented in Halo 4, hopefully we can choose the setting for the template world. Example: Forerunner planet, Halo installation, Earth.
Am I the only one who thinks the CE Remake is too early? Id much rather have a new game, similar to ODST, which will give us a fresh story line to tie us over until Halo 4 is released. Halo CE is my favourite game of all time, id hate for it to be tarnished by a rushed production schedule and most likely a full game price tag.
The gameplay isn't being changed in any way, so there isn't much work to go into game mechanics at all. It's only graphical change and a little bit of added extras in the form of terminals and easter eggs. Even the glitches from Halo C.E are being left in as to not change the game at all. Secondly, there wont be a full price tag, it's been announced the price is 39.99, just like ODST. Lastly, if the game was rushed, the only thing that could really suffer is the multiplayer maps, and from what I've seen, quite a bit of work has been put into them also.
That makes me feel a bit better about it. I hope all you've said comes true. I think id still rather a new game right now though.
-The $40 price tag was confirmed by 343 themselves. -The gameplay for CE is remaining completely unchanged, they're just running a separate graphics engine over the original engine. It will behave identical to the original, confirmed by 343 again. -343 created the last multiplayer map pack, so I have faith that the maps in CE will be just fine.
They made those maps? ... I liked those maps better than a lot of bungie's(just an opinion). That makes me a little more excited about these future maps/games
john put linda in cryo after she suffered extensive plasma burns during the fall of reach and she was presumed dead. when the autumn got shot down by the covenant above the halo ring, her cryo chamber and the others on the ship were ejected. she was floating around in space during the events of CE, then cortana detected her when chief escaped on that longsword and they picked her up. Then after Halsey was rescued from reach they brought linda to her, still frozen, and halsey healed her up. then she defended earth for a while then went to onyx. also i dont see how they could possibly screw up the multiplayer maps in the CE remake, arent they just the original maps in terms of layout, just reskinned? i guess weapons would be different..
When the POA came out of Slip Space, they came under attack almost immediately. Since they had been in slip space, most of their staff and personnel were put under in cryo. Linda, who had been badly injured, was put into cryo. When Keys decided to crash the ship, he commanded that all personnel not awake from cryo would have to be jettisoned, like lifeboats. Linda was picked up by john on his escape from the first halo. in fact, if you need some in game backup, if you go hunting around the first level, you'll find an identical cryo bay which you view from the control room (where you watch that guy get killed after you wake) and on the control panel is an icon of a spartan, and it says "active" or someshiet.
