Things I miss from Halo 3: The fact that the Sniper Rifle was a Anti-Infantry weapon and didn't kill vehicles just as good if not better then the Rockets/Laser. Moveable forge objects.
If you think about it, a .50 cal sniper rifle, or any .50 cal round for that matter, tears the **** out of pretty much anything in reality. One of my mates was in the reserves and routinely fired .50 cal machine gun turrets out in the bush. Theres not much of the bush left afterwards though. Or trees, either. Or roos and wombats. So I think having it deal more damage to the vehicles in Reach is fine. Thats just me though.
Lol Reach isn't real life. That's not the point, Its more about having a choice's and counters. You can't lose with a sniper in Reach. Halo:3, Enemy has a sniper oh no there sniping us on foot we need to stop this now Lets get a warthog or banshee and rush his position getting us a kill and stopping them sniping and getting a bunch of kills. Lets counter snipe him what we don't have a sniper? **** they just got a free 5-20kills.
I know Reach isnt real life, was just stating that I like that its more true to life than its real-life inspiration. The sniper has counters in the RL and Splazer, but they are all countered by one another due to their flaws. Everyone knows them so I wont bother listing them. Tactically, its not as good as Halo 3, but Im not big on vehicle usage so it doesnt bother me. I just wanted to present a point as to why Bungie included massive vehicle damage for the sniper.
I generally like more Realistic things. But the Splazer is meant to be the sniper for vehicles and when the sniper outdoes the splazer in most vehicle killing situations it kinda makes the Splazer redundant weapon in Reach.(which is why it's not in many maps) I have more vehicle kills then headshot's lol So it pisses me off when I have to hide from a sniper in a vehicle or when I've just had a huge battle barely escaped with a flag in a warthog and sniper spawns yay 1-2shots I'm dead. Wouldn't bother me if it was rockets/Splazers/grenade launcher and they killed me that's fair that's there job. But when the sniper already kills everyone and is the best protection and does everything it's just stupid. IMO
not just breakable but movable. i miss on this one map where you could have 4 weapon holders and a grav lift on top that would spin. just drop weapons into it and you've got yourself a random weapon spawner.
not in matchmaking, only customs. In fact, only one map had a fire weapon- the flamethrower- in MM. Construct. If I remember correctly it was because the fire grenades caused some framerate issues and they didn't want them in MM. I may be wrong though
- I miss alot of the weapons: Flamethrower, SMG, BR for example. - Fire Grenades !!! - I miss the Brute Chopper, it was really fun to play Cat n' Mouse with for example. - When it comes to maps I would like these in Reach: Valhalla, Guardian, The Pit, Sandbox (with the Forge options!), Last Resort, Construct and maybe...Narrows? - The Custom Game lobby held more options. - V.I.P, it was nice to creat a own gametyp on. - Working Active Camo, where you could move invisible. - A good campaign. That's what first came to mind.
Dropping the Mauler was the biggest mistake to me. It is such a fun weapon. It also would serve a strong purpose in REACH. We play as Elites on Elite Slayer which has every weapon put to Elite style but we do not have a gun to counter the Sword. When Spartans we have the shotgun to counter the Sword but during Elite Slayer our shotgun gets converted to the Elite AR, the Plasma Repeater. I feel like generic playlist has streamline matchmaking the way CoD does and it honestly it kind of killed my matchmaking buzz I get playing Halo. I liked how I did not have guests to play with in ranked games like SWAT so I always knew I was in a heated competition. Plus I do like my K/D ratio and the fact that Action Sack on REACH contributes to it is ridiculous.
The mauler was a brute hangun, not a shotgun. And people were judged too much in ranked and social playlists, i was pretty bad at ranked and litterally people would leave the lobby because i have only 5 skill
I understand that it was a Brute handgun but a shot to a melee was a kill and it could stand up to the Energy Sword and Shotgun... I'm just saying it would be nice to have a weapon that can go against the Sword during Elite slayer... I know it is a Brute weapon but the Spiker is available in Forge and the Hammer is as well so how could it have hurt.
But you don't see brute guns in Invasion, as there are elites, not brutes. and maluer stood no chance against shotty or sword
I missed that holy crap moment when I was playing campaign on "Covenant" and I discovered the beam rifle and thought i found a glitch after playing halo 3 for a few months, or discovering you could forge things. Sandbox glitches. THE SPIKER IN MULTIPLAYER. Not starting with weapon setups like cod. Running to the banshee on sandtrap EVERY MAP via mongoose. Driving the elephant into the middle of sandtrap and honking the horn like an idiot as i let myself get assassinated. The unlimited random mines i drove around in a chopper in sandtrap. sandtrap. BR the DMR is terrible. That epic blade underneath the brute shot. That "Holy Crap" moment when you see someone with recon.
