because a GAME series should rely on other forms to tell IT'S story?

Also re-read my post. Effectively what I said was that in any of the media coverage leading up to the games release, the armor change was not explained.

However withing the first few moments of you having control of him, it's explained about the upgrades in the game.

Also the books don't mean ****. Do we really want to go through and list all the things that were different in the books than were in the games? If you seriously think the two story lines are connected with anything other than the name and a few characters then perhaps you should read them again.

As far as the game universe goes, the only information you have about it is what is in the games themselves. Even the Anime episodes are too different to really be considered the same.

I personally thought the armor was perfect in 3. The new armor is okay, and I'm not going to fuss over it, but it looks too... motorcrossy to me.

Lol, who cares what the armour looks like? Its not going to affect the way you play the game. And before anyone tries to point out that it does, no, it doesnt. Armour mechanics affect the way the game would play, not aesthetics.

I do admit that it is kinda stupid how his armour has miraculously changed the way its designed whilst he was in cryo, but I dont care, because its not that big of a deal. Im sure theres some way to explain it, and all will be revealed when the game comes out. And if its not, then we'll all come up with some kind of explanation, like nanobots performed repairs on his armour while he slept, or some bullshit like that. Know wha' I sayin'?!

It's like the aesthetics of any map. It doesn't really make a difference at all in how it plays, but it still matters. Granted, it's not a big change, but I like the h3 one better still.

I am guessing that the Forerunner thing from the trailer is behind him?

Does that background help with some of the speculations?

Id hate to be a stick in the mud, but it doesnt really matter that much. The only time youre really going to see it is in cutscenes, and chances are youre going to be focusing more on whats happening in the scene rather than the fact that John now has nothing but black material protecting his groin.

It may bug people for a little while, but we'll come to accept it, and forget this conversation ever happened. :)

Personally I like the new armour. I think it looks more badass. Also that is a sick background of Halo 4: "Wake up John". Sick and hectic.

    Does Thorpie agree? :p

Sorry, spam, uhmm..... pic looks cool, yes. Shield world thing definitely has some kind of Forerunner influence on it, so its definitely Forerunner. Definitely. Also, speculation abound, could be some kind of campaign link to Forgeworld? Probably not...

The poor grammar in that wallpaper leads me to believe Halo 4's campaign will be based around waking up a cyborg...

Should be "Wake up, John". But then all I can think of after that is "Wake up and smell the ashes" which just reminds me HL3 isn't out yet!

Well I really don't mind since there isn't multiplayer. Though H4 better not have kinect integration.

I don't see the problem with kinect integration with any game, including halo 4. ME3 is going to have voice recognition to command squad mates. Something like that doesn't slow down gameplay or detract from precision control. People need to stop thinking kinect is just for holding invisible objects and standing up making a fool of oneself. The tech can be fully integrated with a controller for a better immersive experience.

ME3's voice commands are a good idea and I'm sure they'll try and make them work well but Endwar did that without the need for a £100 accessory.

It seems like a waste of a clever piece of tech. As you said, to keep the gameplay going the player isn't going to want to suddenly have to go into "Kinect Mode" and be forced to perform weird dances to unlock a door or activate a control panel. So they're limited to just using the mic - which isn't new tech, its something you don't actually need the Kinect for, the Xbox comes with a headset...

You misinterpreted what I was saying. There wouldn't be a "kinect mode". That's what I'm saying the problem is. People only associate the kinect with crappy casual games or dance games involving using your whole body. The tech is much more capable than that.

Also the crappy packaged Mic isn't worth a damn. The kinect mic is much better and has the voice recognition software built in. That makes it MUCH easier for developers to utilize than using the headset, which was not designed for sophisticated voice recognition. You notice no game after Edward used that gimmick and for the reason I stated. It is complex to implement and not cost effective.
