Did anyone see the new episode (Season 15, Episode 7) of South Park? That **** (no pun intended) was intense. Do you think this is the mark of the last season? Before you read the spoiler, you can watch it here if you haven't seen it. You're Getting Old - SPs15e07 Spoiler So basically this episode really made me feel some emotions. I didn't realize South Park could have that side to it. Skipping to the end of the episode, you see Stan's parents get a divorce, and move away from each other. Kyle and Cartman become friends. And Stan is stuck seeing everything as ****, and is no longer friends with Kyle, Cartman, and Kenny because of it. If you've watched a lot of South Park, you know that this is pretty big, and strangely moving. The episode isn't necessarily as funny as others, and has a serious tone to it, which is what makes it weird. It just so sad seeing these things happen. All I can think is that it goes back to the episode title "You're Getting Old" and how things change as you grow up and things you liked before you might not like now. In the spoiler you'll find a poorly written review-ish thing. Basically my feelings and attitude towards the episode. You can find a much better review here, boomtron review. But this is not the end to the Season, as it continues in October, when they'll begin to finish up the season. Do you think this marks the end of South Park, or do you think it'll be one of those "You killed Kenny!" things, and he'll be back in the next episode? I'm sad that this is ending only because I grew up watching this show, and to see it end, around the same time I'm getting ready for college, well, it makes me kind of cherish what I have now, before it changes. Sorry this is getting a little too emotional for a thread, please post your thoughts below so I don't feel alone in this. I don't want to grow apart from my friends! (nor do I want to be flamed, but I probably will, but I don't care!)
I read that review and I had some similar thoughts, but part of me knows the creators of South Park (almost personally through their work =P) and I'm almost convinced this is some sort of Rick-Roll on their part. By October I'm sure Stan will discover something he actually likes (I'm thinking a girl), Cartman and Kyle will find a way to hate each other again, and as far as Stan's parents I'm unsure. I could see them getting back together just as easily as I see Randy experimenting with new women. But since he isn't exactly a main character I don't see it effecting the series much. I really hope that this is all leading up to the boys finally going into fifth grade (the series started them in the third grade, btw) and possibly something else. tl;dr : we'll see.
Lol, they pretty much devoted episode 200 & 201 to how they're starting to have to rehash everything. But the world will never run out of idiotic things to make fun of.
The end of South Park? Never. That show will be around til Trey and Matt lose control of their motor functions and cant manipulate the construction paper anymore.
In an interview with the Daily Show, the said that people got the wrong idea about the episode, and that they have no plans of stopping. Here's the interview.
To be real honest, being a fan from season 1, this wouldn't be a tragedy. Since it started, this season has just felt really half assed.
I love South Park. Mark and Trey still do an amazing job with all their satire and overall tying everything together. I would hate to see this end.
that episode got me all choked up. Not sure where they gonna go with this for the other 1/2 of the season. If it lives up to episode 6 i think it would be a great ending to a great series.
Just as I suspected, there'll be no end to that show. It is unstoppable. Their kids are probably going to end up continuing the friggin thing after those two are long gone. On another note, man, if Book of Mormon comes out in Australia, Im so going to see that. I mean, its gotta be right up my alley if Trey and Matt made it, right? Has anyone else seen it?
