Terminus This is my latest map and my first attempt at a slayer based map. I need some beta testers please. Leave your gamertag if you want to help test. I would like some advanced Forgers if possible to help make sure I didn't do anything wrong in terms of spawning, objectives, weapon placement, etc. I haven't even played against anyone yet so you'll be the first to play the map. Here are a few shots of the map. Please leave as much feedback as you can and please leave your gamertag for testing.
I may be down for some testing lster, but from the screenshots i see one problem. The rocket hog. It almost makes air vehicles useless. moreso the falcon. ill have to see how it plays ingame though. GT:XxZero117xX
Definitely, if the Hog proves too powerful I'll change it to a gunner. I have a rocket launcher, a couple grenade launchers, and a few plasma pistols for defense against vehicles so hopefully that will help the balance. Part of the reason for rocket hogs is to keep Banshee and Falcon pilots from dominating a game. If you have anybody willing to join bring them along as well. Gamertag is Wraith2098. I figure Sometime in the evening around 11 est time, but I should be around most of the day if we want to start earlier.
I don't think i can help testing however, i do have a suggestion: You should do some thing with the empty area of to the side. it would be a useless inactive area and snipers could take advantage of it.
Technically it wouldn't be any different than playing on Hemmorage except you have half of the line of sight on my map. However, I do think it is a good idea to add something to that area as it does seem a little empty. So I spent a few hours adding this building in, It's sealed off with windows, has a back side entrance and a front entrance, a few weapons and a health station, and a gravity ladder.
Add another entrance by going up a ramp or rock slide on the left (from the viewpoint of someone looking at the picture. Replace the gav ladder with something more substantial considering it's a main entrance. For something that size you need at least three good entrances/exits. To me it looks a bit bare but I'm sure you plan to make it a bit more comfy with some crates and camping stools (lol) any sort of cover to attract players and look less barren.
Thanks for the tips pyro. The side closest to the base is a closed off window and the grav latter actually works very well. Maybe the size of the building is deceiving to how big the actual fighting area is. I originally had bridged roads going through both sides but it was a little too bulky looking for my liking. It looks more detailed up close, but I will definitely add some extra scenery to pretty it up some. I'll think about adding the bridges back in as well, but I'd like to do a little play testing first. [br][/br]Edited by merge: [br][/br]Edited by merge: I've gotten a couple test games in so far, but nothing larger than maybe 8 or 9 players. So far the map plays very smooth and doesn't appear to have any problems minus a few minor glitches that I've cleaned up. A few weapons were spawning too fast, some were set to phased which has been changed back to normal, the banshee has been moved to where the Falcon was originally placed in the above pictures and two Falcons now sit at the bases, Rocket Hogs have been left alone as they've created a good balance against aerial vehicles, and the blue base barrier wall has been moved back several feet for a little extra room. If any testers that were on noticed anything else please let me know. And sorry I couldn't stay on for more games last night, I had to pick my lady up from work.
