Thank you guys! Jeremiah said the updated playlists should go live as early as tomorrow, so start looking to see this map in rotation then! Until then, I have a feedback thread in the Optimatch forum if anyone here wants to drop some knowledge on people who haven't played the map yet.
Shi..! I just had the idea of naming a future map this exact name..! There should be a thread that lists already used map names (alphabetically). But onto the map. I agree, this is playlist worthy. The structure's unique and its not over-complicated in any way. And i enjoy that you placed a good portion of the map on the island, but didnt get carried away with the environment. map rating:9.2/10

I played this twice yesterday in MM and really enjoyed it. It played well and the spawns were great for even an asymmetrical map. And btw, this map isn't abov the cave.
Tunnel? lol. Glad to hear spawns were working well. I had to do a lot of small adjustments to get them to the point that they're at now.
Eightball, Tom and I were able to play this in matchmaking today! I downloaded this awhile back but was never able to get a game on this! Now that I have played a game on this I am in awe! everything about this map is great! I was a little afraid that the team that spawns next to the sniper would have an instant advantage...but that is not the case! There was an epic rush to the sniper for both sides, and both arrived at the same time! I also really like that a lot of the fighting focused on the center with many ways in and out to help teammates in trouble! Honestly, this hands down has the best flow to any matchmaking map so far! Great job man!
Congrats on getting your map into MM, DTL. Is this exclusively in the TS playlist or has it made its way into some others? Im keen to have a game on it. : )
Congrats on getting this in matchmaking. I remember when it received a feature from Bungie. The flow of the map is great, and the aesthetics are fantastic through your use of larger pieces. It's always fun to rotate and phase to create structures with Large Platforms. Keep up the great work!

For now this map is exclusively in the TS playlist, although I'd love to see it in other playlists eventually! Getting featured on Bungie's com chatter was a great way to get large scale feedback from people. It helped me iron out a lot of small details on the map. Thanks for the comments!

God it would have been embarasing if you missed that first jump. Nice map, though I thought it would have been better suited to squad slayer or big team.
Honestly, I probably should not be saying this but o well! Considering you designed this map, and it is an amazing map, your gameplay video was a sad depiction of this map! Almost the entire video you were you holding the sniper not moving more than ten feet. What a sad way to play such a great map! Honestly, what I liked most about this map was the inner courtyards and the battles that came from it! Yet the way you played this game took that away! Anyways, for the above post about it being in squad or BTB. Have you played this map in team slayer? At first I also thought it would be better suited for more people, and I do believe that it could support a couple more people, but I think it played brilliantly with 4v4 slayer! Not small by any means but not so big you are look all over the place for people! I love the many routes that you can take also on this map!
I can't believe I never commented on this before. Just wanted to say that I played Precipice in MatchMaking today and it was by far the most satisfying matchmade game on a user made map. That includes default user made maps, lol.
I've made that jump so many times I think it'd be impossible for me to miss it at this point, but ya never know, lol. The map can definitely support more players. I could definitely see this map in squad slayer, but it's definitely too small for BTB action. The video I posted was from MM! And I was going to post another video depicting a completely different kind of game, but I had some issues with xbox live. It will be up some time tomorrow. I posted this particular video because I believe it showcased a different style of gameplay than what I've seen on the map before. And I wanted to show that a team can hold a certain area of the map, but with all the routes and flanking options it's impossible to hold forever. I was shocked when blue team flanked me from below which led to my assassination that game. I totally had it coming, but I didn't think the other team knew the map that well at that point, lol. And if you ever get a cool game on the map, throw the vid my way and I'll render it and show it off. Wow, that's a big compliment. I don't think I could even rank my map that high, although I do enjoy it a lot. Hopefully you'll keep voting for it in MM. I saw DMR starts on the map for the first time the other day, I didn't even know it was an option!
I hope you do! I've had a lot of fun on the new batch of maps to hit MM. youtube On that note, I just found a video on youtube exploiting a few things on the map. Needless to say, updates are being applied and hopefully they find their way into the MM update next month. The first "hiding spot" actually had a soft kill barrier in it, which I believe Bungie removed for some reason. I'll be adding it again, to reiterate it's importance. I've updated the DL link with the latest version of the map, and of course a link can be found here as well: Precipice - 6/27/2011 This update also lowers the spawn time on red side DMR to 30 seconds, and adds a DMR with a 30 second spawn time to the purple room.
