Thanks, and I'm probably going to start my first character off as a Nord because they are from Skyrim. They were my favorite race in Oblivion too, because of their warrior attributes. I never really got into magic in the game because it was really just like, slow. But based off the videos, the magic looks much improved, so I'll probably be a battle-mage Nord dude. We'll see. I feel like that's going to be my outlook when I start, and as I go through the game and have ventured the same path 20+ times, I'll start fast traveling. Scratch that, I'll take a different route. But with the new Radiant Story system that kind of forces you to explore, I can't imagine not exploring. Plus it makes every play-through different, which is very exciting to me. Exploring the game is probably one of the first things I do, along with the main quest and woodcutting. Gotta love that woodcutting. I wonder how much you'll make doing jobs like those.
do you really care that much about people posting in your thread and not this one? c'mon son, grow up. your threads been dead since february. he did say this is a discussion thread, so i'll use it for discussion. i plan on playing a bow/stealth character. possibly bosmer, but the khajiit does look pretty damn sexy.
No, just simply pointing out that the thread already exists and some people should use the search function before they start a thread.
Dont know what race Im going to start out as, but I usually go for the stealth character, and throw in a bit (read: a lot) of spells. So I guess Im likely going to choose Bosmer or Argonian first, then change it up on different play throughs. I am going to explore the **** out of this game, screw FT. Ill only use that when I have to do those annoying delivery missions and have to walk the same paths over, and over, and over again. And Im probably not going to finish the main story for about 6 months. When I first got Oblivion, I got out of the sewers, finished a few story quests, then went out and explored just abut everywhere. I eventually came back to the main storyline, but by that time, it was laughable as my character was a walking tank. I still enjoyed it thoroughly though, and will no doubt enjoy this one even more.
Exactly the same for me! I did like four or five main story missions, and then just did side quests and stuff. And the Dark Brotherhood was the best, I'm so glad that's making a return. And honestly, I just started the game again, like last week, because I need to run through the main story. There's just so much other stuff to do, it can become real easy to forget that there's a main quest line. [br][/br]Edited by merge: New video added to the bulletin! (Check the original post)
So, a possible Construction Set for console owners, eh? I doubt they'd be able to do that, as there would be too much family unfriendly content that people would make, and MS in notorious for their strictness on that front. Still, it would be awesome if they managed to find a way around it, but Im not holding my breath. Also, where the hell is Notch from? He sounds Welsh, but I couldnt pick it exactly. It looked like Todd spent half the video either trying to work that out too, or trying to understand what Notch was saying and just nodding and emitting an agreeable groan.
Yeah, I'm not sure about a Construction Set for console owners, more like people make mods on the PC and they are made available to the console players. Of course, like you said, if it was completely open, people would post naughty mods for download. Which is exactly what Microsoft tries to avoid. An idea I had that could make this easier, as there would obviously need to be a review board for the mods, is just convert the top mods over for console. It's still farfetched, but I'm really hoping this goes through. I bought both Oblivion for PC and 360 just so I could have the mods. But I enjoy playing on the 360 much more. As for Notch, apparently he's Swedish. Never would have guessed. And there were definitely some awkward parts during that interview. I just thought it was really cool being a big Minecraft and Elder Scrolls fan. By the way, new video about to be posted on the bulletin. Watch for it.
Havent played Minecraft, as Im not much of a PC gamer, but might have a go when it comes to 360. Also, something I noticed in the new vid you posted above, theyve cleaned the HUD up a lot, which I like. I wasnt a fan of the slightly offset compass in Oblivion (and to a greater extent, Fallout 3s very offset compass) so its good to see it in the middle of the screen now. Should make locating things that little bit easier. Wasnt that bad I guess, but it just bugged me a little. I also like how the mana/health/fatigue bars disappear when not in use. Simple, but effective.
since the PC version has so many wonderful options for it, i was wondering if it would possibly work on a mac computer. it would be awesome to use with all of the console commands for it, and no, i am not getting a new computer.
Skyrim Mods Could Reach Consoles - Edge Magazine The day this happens is the day I become a truly happy person.
Well it's been the same since Morrowind. The mods they are referring to are a single file, that record a set of changes in the games directory. The end result is anything you want it to be, providing you are only using the games assets, and not creating your own. I'm quite sure they don't mean the kind of mods that i tend to see, like retexturing mods and the like. That's all new information. It's bulky, it's buggy, and it will most certainly remain explicitly on the PC. So the above mods would really be easy to do for the consoles. I just do not see Microsoft letting up.
It's also a matter of controlling what kind of content is created. Some can be inappropriate, or it could be copyright issues. Even more basic customizing caused similar problems in Little Big Planet.
I dont think this will happen. At least not in a good way. If it does, like Matty said, it will be very basic things, not new user generated content. So no Middle Earth mods. Probably just rehashed mini-quests and, maybe, some new dungeons to loot. And stupidly tanked-up weapons and armour.
So I heard about Skyrim's Pre-Order To Include Exclusive Premium World Map. Hoping it's a cloth map instead of a paper one, I have enough of those.
I would have pre-ordered the earliest day possible, but I'm holding out to see any Gamestop exclusives.
