Thanks, I just wanted to know whether it was just speculation or not.

Halo: CE maps will play nothing like they originally did, in Reach. Which is rather unfortunate.

Anyone notice, in the Halo 4 trailer, that Chief picked up a pistol and shot a MUTHAFUCKIN GRENADE!

I'm not trying to be stubborn or anything but Frank said that it's run on the Reach engine not the same multiplayer. But I'm just being knit-picky on minor details now... lol.

Whoever was talking about the button pressing thing to go back and forth, they meant that they can do that at the studio for comparisons. They flip back and forth and it's all there. Rock for rock, tree for tree, enemy for enemy.

You guys always jump to such ridiculous conclusions and let yourselves down. Can't you just take it at face value? It's a mirror replicated remake of the campaign. That's it. It's amazing for what it is.

I saw that too. I guess it's a hint at a new weapon. Though I think breaching with an actual grenade may have been cooler, and I'm not sure how I feel about them confirming new weapons this early, kinda breaks the immersion to have a new weapon that he didn't have access to earlier RIGHT THERE when he wakes up.

Have you heard the way they explained it? "The gameplay is the same as the old Halo: CE" and then they go in later and say "We also remade 7 classic maps." If the gameplay is the same then I would automatically assume multiplayer would be too. That makes sense, right?

"Being able to switch back to the classic on the fly is GOING to be a magical experience." Why was I supposed to assume "going to be" meant that only they could do it? :(

Yes, I may have been jumping to conclusions but saying that they were ridiculous is an exaggeration. All of my speculations seemed to be rather logical.

Why would they remake Derelict *again*? Zealot is basically Desolation (Which was a better version of Derelict), but slightly better.

For me, Derelict and Sidewinder were some of the few I missed. I saw Beaver Creek, Damnation, and Hang Em' High. I might have seen Blood Gulch/Coagulation/Valhalla too. Not sure which one it was. It had the Valhalla bases.

Yes, but if you WATCH the video, you clearly see the remade maps are being played with Halo reach. Look at the spartans, look how they move when they die... Reach. Just cause he's saying words doesn't mean you should forget what the screen itself tells you.

And why would they even remotely think about making a feature that lets you press a button and turn your game into an entirely other game? Do you know how hard and sucky that'd be for basically nothing?

I thought that the campaign portions even looked like Reach to be completely honest. Next time a ViDoc is released, I'll just mute it and just assume what's going on. That's not jumping to conclusions at all.

I would honestly like it. It would be awesome and great for reflecting on the same experience you had 10 years prior. I don't know, I'm just into that kind of stuff I guess. Again, I was just assuming that's what they meant when they said, "Being able to switch back to the classic on the fly is GOING to be a magical experience." Even if you were to mute it, you could see that they were switching on the fly from "2001" to "2011."

    Unrelated:

Muted, it supports my theory even more. They were showing comparison shots from before and after to show you how close they stayed to the original. Come on man...

I was being sarcastic. I'm not denying that it probably won't be implemented because I have no idea how they would even go about it but I'm going off of what was being said. Other than that though, they'll be implementing remakes not designed for Reach, which will probably turn out just about as terrible as Reflection and maps alike.

I'll probably pick up Anniversary used and after it's value decreases. I see no point in paying full price for only half a game I loved. (Even if it is $39.99) That's where I currently stand but there is still a good amount of time to be persuaded otherwise.

I mean, so if the multiplayer will be Reach, can you play with play on both games lol? Will the maps be released for Reach? Oh God, this is confusing lol.

    Sorry, but...

    Video that Ladnil posted:

YouTube - ‪Halo 4/ Halo CE Anniversary Frank O' Connor Interview On Spike (HD)‬‏

Direct quote from just after 1:20 in that video:

Quoted, specified fact, stated in the ViDoc as well. About as far from ridiculous assumption as possible.

Also, with regard to the maps, again the terminology was needlessly deceptive. Saying stuff like "the multiplayer runs on the Reach engine," when in fact it is just the Reach multiplayer and a bunch of new maps for it, leaves room for confusion. Yes the footage did pretty clearly show Reach once you looked at it, but tbh the first time I was watching through I thought for a second that they'd just remade CE and put assassination animations in it. I facepalmed pretty hard before it clicked that these were just Reach maps.

It's similar to how Halo: ODST had a multiplayer disc for Halo 3. Actually it's the same exact concept with a different name attached to it. A Halo: Reach multiplayer disc is included with Halo: Anniversary.
