Is there a name for trying to catch snakes by setting up assorted pieces of sheet metal/plywood? It's for a lab report. I have no idea what kind of name could be used for that "sampling method." I want to start a sentence in my introduction as "To collect data, we used a sampling method known as..." but I'm at a loss for words. EDIT: Nevermind, I'm just putting down "the utilization of artificial cover" for the lack of a better word.
Ah, well to describe it, we had to look for snakes at eight different locations around my school's campus. At each of these locations there were sheets of metal and wood for the snakes to take refuge under (artificial cover). It's a herpetological survey for my Environmental Science class.
