I am not looking forward to pay to win multiplayer personally...

They said that the multiplayer would not be pay to play, but that for the subscription fee you get access to more maps, weapons, acheivements etc. That means if you pay, you can use the good weapons, and if you don't you can have your base few, and if you pay you can play all the the maps, but if you stop your subscription you no longer can. This is BS, and I do not support this in the least.

    You're ****ing kidding right?

Seriously, the thread is FULL of links. There are TWO videos above you. Learn your crap before you post. Read the freaking thread.

It's been stated INCREDIBLY clearly that Elite will have NO extra weapons or perks, so it doesn't affect gameplay, and the ONLY affect it will have on the maps is that those who use the paid version of Elite will get the DLC free.

Seriously, some people need to learn to read.

1:Call Of Duty Multiplayer Fee Coming -- Analyst Michael Pachter - G4tv.com

2: Activision Hints At Subscription-Based 'Call of Duty' Again
    Franchise will still be annualized.
    by Jim Reilly
February 10, 2010 - A subscription-based 'Call of Duty' title is looking more and more likely.

When asked about the company's upcoming plans for the series during its financial call this afternoon, President and CEO of Activision Publishing Mike Griffith re-confirmed the series will see a new title every year, and said new business models are being looked at.

"Our strategy continues to be to annualize our key franchises. We've indicated before that Call of Duty is on a two year development cycle given the content and work that needs to go into a high-quality game experience," said Griffith.

"We also have new business models potentially for the franchise in the future and we've been building capabilities on both the business development side as well as the studio side of it. We remain committed to annualize the Call of Duty franchise."

President and CEO of Activision Bobby Kotick also hinted at where the company wants to take Call of Duty going forward.

"If you think about the success that we've had in other product categories on subscription, you can get a sense of the direction that we want to take that franchise," he said.

Last November, Activision Blizzard CFO Thomas Tippl stated during the BMO Capital Markets Conference in New York City the company plans to test and launch new online business models for its top franchises.

3: "Activision Blizzard Inc. plans to launch an online service called Call of Duty Elite this fall that will work with the next major edition of the game, "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3," and future installments of the hyper-realistic combat-simulation game. In a move industry executives describe as a first, Activision plans to charge a monthly subscription fee for the service, which will provide extra content that isn't offered on game discs sold in stores, including downloadable map packs that give players new "Call of Duty" levels to play."

In an interview, Activision Chief Executive Bobby Kotick said he isn't worried about pushback from gamers about the Call of Duty Elite fee because players will still be able to compete against each other online without subscribing to the service. While he is coy about many of the offerings that will be included in the service, Mr. Kotick said Call of Duty Elite, and the customer-service operation that will be needed to support it, wouldn't be possible if the service was free. "This is an enormous investment," he said.

"Call of Duty" is in a unique position to seek a monthly fee from customers. The game's previous installment, set during the Cold War and called "Call of Duty: Black Ops," was the best-selling game last year, with global retail sales of more than $1 billion during its first six weeks on shelves.

These are what I have heard. I know it is not Pay to Play, but they are considering Pay to Win, which means if you pay the extra sub, you get more stuff that can help you in game.

^That there is pretty old stuff.

It's been said, over and over, time and time again, that there will be no "second class players", and that Elite will have NO EFFECT on gameplay whatsoever.

The stuff you're linking to, Orland, is over a year old. The info we are referring to is a week old. They've stated that ELITE will not alter gameplay in anyway.

I can't wait to hear the full announcement of what COD Elite will bring, because Activision is screwed either way.

Either they include something useless, and no-one will buy it, or they include something useful, and everyone will ***** that it wasn't made freely available.

Whatever they're offering, I doubt it could possibly be worth $120 per year.

Where're you getting that figure? If they charge more per month for it than Xbox Live, then there's no WAY I'm getting it, no matter what features it has.

I can't imagine them charging any less than $5, or any more than $10 a month.

Same ****, different number, somewhat improved graphics I suppose

You probably could tell that I am unimpressed by what they've shown of this game.

I thought the E3 demo was alright, but incredibly familiar.

Still looks decent enough for me to probably buy though. The CoD games have never been a hardcore competitive game for me in any way. They were just a game to run through a decent(ish) campaign, and then have some fun in multiplayer every now and again.

It's just stunning how similar MW3 looks to MW2. It looks like the exact same ****ing game.

Here is the graphic difference. Mainly just proper use of lighting.

I am actually VERY happy everything looks like it'll be like MW2, I don't care for anything new. I just want mw2 fixed to be honest.
