I didn't want to post this in the Reach Forge forum and get in trouble on my first day, so I put this topic here. If I'm in the wrong, I do apologize. I just needed some help and this'll be the best place to find it. Anyone out there with a little Forging experience/expertise, I'd like some assistance. If push comes to shove, I'll even be willing to pay just a little. All I need is a room with explosives. Any map will do. Now, I know what you're thinking, and yes--I can do that myself. But what I need is a little on the impossible side. I need a pair of doors at one end that can either be "blown off the hinges" or given the appearance of doing so. Like I said, I know doors on Forge aren't meant to be moved, unless by a Monitor--but even so, I don't need something that takes hours of preparation(hell, you can just use one spawn; it's what I prefer actually) I just want it to look like I'm bursting through the door in a blaze of operatic glory. (I'm making another montage.) If you're up for it, there's another task I might need you to complete, but I can't announce it here, everyone will know exactly what the montage will be about. So if you can help, I'd greatly appreciate it.Thanks!
Actually you can blow doors off of hinges in Reach. What you do is forge a map, then set it up for the invasion gametype. One of the options in forge is making the doors a bomb plant and it will literally blow them off of their hinges.
yeah he's right but its a one frame animation so it will go from closed to off with the doors moving instantly you could also use scenery items which have the laws of halo physics applied to them
not exactly. The explosion can last for nearly a second worth of frames. The door disappearing and then reappearing somewhere down the field are both single frames. But if done correctly, it can look convincing. Also, if you have a core exposed due to an explosion, the spawning of the core causes the core to rock as it falls to the ground. That coincides with the explosion and appears as though the core was there all along, just pushed around by the explosion. Ahhh, a true forger... or do you just work the graveyard shift?
