The 2x2 Forge Contest Official Thread

Still have to test! I havent gotten around to it as Ive been playing... another game. Ahh screw it, Ive been playing LEGO Pirates. Go ahead, berate me, I dont care! Its a bloody fun game.

Anyway, back on topic. I may jump back here in the next 24 hours to see if anyone wants to help test, so if youre keen, keep an ear open.

 

If we use anything on that list of allowed items besides the banks in some sort of aesthetic way, are we breaking the rules?

 

1 day extension window pkease, or is tuere a specific event which would limit the competition to this short timeframe ( too short a time rho :/

 

I would wish for a little time more if I could too since I have to study for exams which are all next week.

 

Oh good... I can actually play my map.

 

That's my main problem with my map IMO. My friends were happy enough to play Slayer on it and I got one Rally game out of them, but I've made it compatible with most FFA gametypes and...no one wants to test them out. Still, the extended deadline should give me a chance to get that stuff done at some point.

 

You should put this info in the submission thread, so people who posted their maps arent all, "like, WTFOMGLOLBBQ?" when their maps arent judged until next Monday. ; )

 

Alright so I've decided to extend the submission deadline even further. What we're aiming for is maps to be submitted no later than the 17th 12AM.

Way too long in my opinion, it's not like we have to build the most complex map ever

 

If you want to shave off a few days be my guest. I've been unable to actually complete mine and figured other forgers where having trouble testing, etc. Under the really short time constraints. Your call really Rho.

 

Aw man, why have I only just seen this competition?

 

I kinda think the 17th is too long a time to do this. It doesn't have to be a brilliant map (Mine might end up submitted untested for most modes...) and some people have already done their maps assuming a close deadline and submitted them.

 

Exactly what I thought.
Every Contest we have gets an extension, are we Germans the only people in the world that learn to finish their tasks in time, otherwise you are ****ed.

I know, I can still change my map, add more gametypes and fix some things, but I and some other people were able to forge and test or maps during the time we thought was given and only because some people are not able to finish a map out of 2x2 Banks in under one week, the deadline gets pushed back 2 weeks? I'm sure there are forgers on this site who are able to forge and test a feature worthy map if you'd give them 3 weeks.

I needed 4 weeks in Halo 3 to forge a decent map, some of you need 4 weeks to forge a map out of one object in Halo Reach ..

 

ah cool. I must have misread / not seen something, i thought it was ending very soon. I have some experience using blocks as map builders so im pretty interested in this.
