Iceberg, created by Gravedigger5454 Based on a map idea by TheYavimayan Quick Summary of How to Play: If your a human, stay on the large iceberg you spawn on and try not to fall off as the walrus shakes it. If your a walrus, use your gravity hammer to attack the large iceberg in front of you, as you attack it, fusion coils will explode that don't hurt you but can instantly kill fallen penguins, also you gravity hammer blasts will shake the iceberg to cause them to fall. If you attack it enough, small icecubes will start to fall off from the top of the iceberg. If the penguins avoid sliding off for four minutes, they'll win. Backstory: A hungry walrus approaches a large iceberg. At the top of the iceberg lives many penguins. As the walrus shakes the iceberg, the penguins struggle not to fall off. Penguins that have fallen try to escape their death by running away, but they soon find that there's no where to hide. The Walrus comes from a well decorated room with lots of surronding scenery. Re: Iceberg Its really not that hard of a concept to grasp. I've never seen anything like this before. This is unique, clever, and looks like it could make for a hilarious game. Were you possibly inspired or watching March of the Penguins when you made this?
Re: Iceberg Your at least the third person who's said, did you really think I wasn't gonna make it? It just took a long time to test and get it to work well, etc. I thought it was cool because it was something that could actually be better without Foundry (unlike most maps which could be made the best on Foundry). It may look a little confusing in the screens, because I had to pretty much put every object on the map all in one spot in a certain way to get it to work. It looks better in game, and is easier to understand, just don't let the Walrus's make you slide off the Iceberg. Thanks, and no but I just got a good idea for a name change for the mode. I'll update it with a mode v2 as soon as I can (mostly just a changed name).
Re: Iceberg Hilarious idea (with the backstory) and well-done map. And pics 1 and 2 are actually us doing our choreographed Happy Feet dance moves.
Re: Iceberg this really seems like a good game type.... I try it out... and give you feed back when i can get a group together...
Re: Iceberg If you look at pic 2, you were a little off beat. Some walruses believe that a penguin diet can help them lose weight. Thanks, I hope you enjoy it.
Re: Iceberg I guess I have to try this one out lol. It looks so confusing and cluttered from the pics but still sounds enjoyable.
Re: Iceberg It's hard to get good pics for this map, but ingame, with the mode, it's not confusing at all.
I have released much improved version of the map and gametype. Find the new download links in my first post.
everytime i play this someone starts singing i am the walrus by the beatles, its so stupid. but the map is great, lots o' fun.
You know what this looks really awsome and I csnt wait to try it out but may I ask one thing Arent the penguins kind of on death row, i mean the gravity hammer is really strong and it "looks" like the crates and antennas will fall extremely easily, so can you post a video or something so I and other people know it isnt fixed for the walrus
Thanks, Bnasty, I've never heard that song before though. I don't have a capture card, so I could only post a halo video, which you would have to download anyways. If someone who does have a capture card could make of this though, I would be grateful, because it will show the map a lot better than screenshots can. All the pictures I took are from mid game though. The entire "iceberg" struture is anchored in many spots by immovable objects. This makes it so that the gravity hammer attacks shake it violently, rather than completely destroying it. If the walruses are good enough, they can get a few pieces of the top of the iceberg to fall off, reducing the area the penguins have to stand on. A few of these are easier to get out, but the two central ones are really hard to get out, although they are harder to avoid sliding off of, encouraging penguins to be on the less stable ones when possible. To "win" as a penguin, you can be the last one left on the iceberg. Also, the design of the map makes assasinating a walrus pretty much impossible, but if one of them is not attacking with their gravity hammer, you can sometimes sneak behind them to get a kill. Be careful though, because a fusion coil system makes explosions all around a walrus when they attack (this explosion only hurts penguins that have fallen off the iceberg).
Thanks. Also, to clarify with my last post, the Iceberg is almost impossible to completely destroy within the time limit for a round. There's always room for the Penguins to survive unless the walruses are really good.
the map, im sure plays well but there is so many medium sized object that make the map look sloppy even though its not. you might want to fix dat
