I know, another map adoption thread, but seriously, the scoring with this map is so frustrating to work out the kinks to the point where I had to put my controller down in aggravation. Here's what the map and gametype are about: You play the role of a firefighter preventing wild kill balls from wreaking havoc on you and your fellow teammates. How? The kill balls are the scoring object, that's how. But what is your goal? Currently, an armor ability is the goal with specific parameters that only let you score once you have enveloped the center of the kill ball within your goal's parameters. This requires getting up close and personal. How close? Let's just say you'll need a drop shield. If you feel like taking this map on, PM me about it and I will have it up in my file share for as long as you need to download it. Here are some of the things you could think about if and when you do. Map Pro's: - Positive feedback from all who have seen it thus far (non-FH members however) - Goal scoring parameters are just close enough even with a drop shield that scoring a victory against a kill ball is thrilling. - Can be played solo. - This HAS potential. I can feel it. Map cons: - Kill balls seem to follow preordained paths, and never seem to be truly random. I want the feel of Avalanche's randomness (without being overwhelmed by kill balls). - There are only 4 drop shields. How can I make it so that even with a full lobby, teams will have to work together to score? preferably teams of 4. - The spawning area needs a major overhaul. - The armor ability doesn't despawn quick enough. I may need to change it to a weapon that instantly respawns or a plasma that will roll downhill. - The entire arena this is set in may be too steep. It is on a 15° slope. - Lastly, the aesthetics could use a little retouching. So again: If you feel like taking this map on, PM me about it and I will have it up in my file share for as long as you need to download it.
why not have other players without drop shield the scorers, and they have to work with the drop shield players to score.
