Map Name Origin: Another word for "Fortress" Well, we have been testing and it has been going great. I think One Flag is done and finished. Stockpile and 3 plots are working fine as well. Slayer still needs to be tested further. In case you were wondering, Vallation is another word for fortress. It is built above the canyon and right into a giant rock face. I incorporated the rock to go along with the gameplay of the map. Vallation is asymmetrical and it was originally built for One Flag. ATM it is set up for One Flag, 3-plots and Stockpile. I have not tested for Stockpile and Team Slayer yet so that's still needed. THESE PICS ARE OLD. I HAVE CHANGED A LOT. When I release the map, which will be soon, you will see the new and improved version. Or, just test the map when we play. Remember this is a map preview so that's all your'e gonna get for now. If you want to see more, just test with us and this map might just pop up.
A word to the wise about using railings along long portions of your map. They're really expensive so if you have any budget trouble, it's a good idea to replace them with the top edges of walls or flat blocks. Would you care to elaborate on where the flag spawn is in one flag, because I honestly cant tell. Even though the map is asymm, it doesn't look too unbalanced.
Well, I remembered you showing me this in Forge and I was all like "Ooo, got to go up the lift. Fancy lift." Then I was bored and re-did that central circular tower. (Which seems to hav been taken out) But the map itself looked really appealing, and looks good for gameplay. The Ghost is still a little, eh, for me though. Guess we'll see how that plays out.
You got rid of ma grav lifts! D: Nah, I don't miss em. I had fun playing some test games on here, but if I were you, I'd swap the attackers and defenders bases and build up the bases slightly more laterally. that way, the attackers could take the rock path over the map if they wanted, sacrificing power weapons for a quick stab at the flag. If the bases were extended slightly I don't think this would be unbalanced either. I can help you out in forge if you want, just PM me on here when you're on.
Ok well if you look in the second picture, the left side is where the flag always spawns and the attackers spawn on the right side. [br][/br]Edited by merge: Yeah I have changed a lot since you and psycho last played. I fixed up the spawns, added some more cover on top and added another gravity lift near ghost spawn. The ghost can be used well in certain areas and it's not advised to try and take it ip the narrow paths. The alley in which it spawns is a dangerous place to be if the ghost is roaming there. But there are plenty of ways to escape, so it's balanced.
Ticky, this map is your best yet. The layout is cool and above all, the map design is unique, and not the generic symmetrical 4v4 standard. I liked the game I played here, although I think One-Flag could use some tweaking. Keep up the good work!
Just amazing. Playing this was such a breath of fresh air, especially with the rocky pass from the defenders' to the attackers' side. This certainly has potential, I'd like to see where this goes.
I really enjoyed the 3-plots game we played on this today, everything felt nice and smooth. For some random doodles, this map came together quite nicely. Plus, it makes me proud to see my little hallway all grown up... *wipes tear*
Haha yes the hallway is a nice edition. Yeah I still want to make One Flag work on this, and I am sure slayer will work just fine. KOTH maybe? We'll see.
