Does anyone remember that one Basket Ball map in Halo 3? It was almost exactly like basketball itself, in the game you could dribble the ball & you also had to throw the ball in the hoop to get a point (and slam dunks for 2 points); it was made on sandbox in Halo 3.

I wish this great game would be remade into Halo:Reach, I played it everyday with my friends. I thought that was one of my most favorite games at that time, if it were to be remade, I believe that would have a HUGE popularity like it did when it was made in Halo 3:)

    It was called "Pro 'Sketball"

No replies? Wow... am I the only one who thought this was a good game or somrthing? I thought it would be a great idea for everyone if the creator of "Pro 'Sketball" would remake it in Halo:Reach.

It was a pretty good game, the only downside was that it was nearly impossible to balance the teams, and most of the time people wouldn't know exactly how to do everything properly.

In addition, the physics differ in Reach, so it'd be rather challenging to recreate it.

Are you referring to the jumping campablities or the damage you take upon landing?...

I was referring to the jumping capabilities (with the man cannons and gravity lift).

I'm not sure if the mancannon thing could be redone, but if it could, it'd require a drop shield, which would diminish the effect of the shotgun. The jetpack would need to replace the portable gravity lift, and since it isn't a one time use, the gameplay would be hindered.

I'm not sure exactly how it played, but some jump pads could help with the grav lift problem.

Now not trying to sound crazy or anything but how needs armor abilities for this game. why not have a few hidden jump pads and everybody running around with sprint (or evade)?

    Just asking.

lol, well at least someone liked my map!

Mander and I have no intention of recreating Pro 'Sketball in Reach. It was ultimately too complicated for most players and lacked that "pick up and play" vibe that mini games require.

It's also true that the physics and forge objects act quite differently in Reach. As well as the issues others' mentioned, there's also the fact that you can't "dribble" as effectively in Reach, since Bungie made it so that you can't pick an object back up again straight away after dropping it.

If a basketball map was to be made in Reach my thoughts would be to re-imagine it from the ground up for Reach, rather than build on the framework of Pro 'Sketball from Halo 3.
