I was thinking of ways to recreate Run for Cover on Zues (from Halo 3's action sack playlist) since we do not have the VIP gametype. Then I thought, I could make a similar gametype using the speedpile gametype. One team would start up in the sky with snipers, spartan lasers and focus rifles spawned on the top of the map. The other team below would try to collect the flags around the map and put them in the hill in the middle of the map(which is wide open). There would be 4 rounds and whatever team collects the most flags wins. Now some things to decide: -Speed of people carrying and not carrying flags -Just hologram AA? -Unlimited score limit and the team just keeps collecting till the rounds over or have a score limit per round? - Would people actually be interested in this game?
Do it! KotH, crazy king could work. If you use Speedpile, can you have points for kills? I cannot remember... Speedpile sounds good. Maybe you could use the HaloBall variant, with some clever forging... maybe have drop spawned Hologram AAs on every spawn point, and they are the Objects that must make it to the goal. Then you can have multiple goals. As WELL as different point values for different AAs. I will get back to you with moar... EDIT: You could also have the goals 'move' by blocking them with an object, using spawn at start 'No', and spawning a new one.
No, you cannot. I was actually going to try with the Haloball variant first, but due to the lack of forge items I could use and the goals not able to move, it wouldn't work. And I don't really like the idea of doing that. Blocking off goals. I'll explore it though.
I personally think this is a great idea. Speedpile is really the only way to go with this. Are you going to personally make the map?
Why? because the waypoints will remain? It would be similar with Speedpile, but no moving objective...
I already have re-made this. I just need to get some tests on it and tweak it accordingly and thats it! But you can create your own version and give it your own little spin i suppose.
I always thought of begging Jeremiah to bring back VIP next, just for Run for Cover. I see some problems with this: 1: The players on the ground would have snipers and lasers too, 2: Each team needs a Dropoff point.
