Hello and welcome everyone! I now introduce you to the land of Erestril! This map was created solely for three purposes; to introduce a new style of gameplay into Halo, to give people a map and gamemode that has a huge objective and epic back story, and to make full use of the whole Forgeworld map. This is a giant RPG (Role-Playing) styled game. (Please note that this is a big story and this explanation will be long, but if you don't understand something, info on it is here.)

Map Description: This map uses up every single area in Forgeworld, top to bottom, meaning that it is a huge map and everything is accessible. The map is set in a medieval time period, like Oblivion and/or Two Worlds 2 (which actually inspired me to do this). That means swords, horses, and magic. Now of course these things are not literally in Halo Reach, so everything is improvised and will be explained later in this thread. The map contains villages, dungeons, caves, and much more, all of which can be explored in search of better equipment and weapons. This map does have some puzzle elements to it though. Meaning exploring these places or finding certain items will not be easy.

Gametype Description: The gametype played with this is a specifically made Headhunter gamemode called "The Dragon Wars". Players may choose any team they wish to be on. So you can partner up with friends or go solo. But, you can still betray your friends and even work with enemies, no matter what team you are on. The choice is all yours. I understand that there is another map and game called "Halo RPG" and this is where I got the idea to use a Headhunter gametype for this, so I thank those people. The gametype works in a way that the more skulls you have, the stronger you are, which resembles a leveling system. Once someone reaches 10 skulls, they are at maximum level, meaning they have greatly increased health and unlimited equipment usage, but everyone can see them.

Story: You are set in the land of Erestril during the time of the Dragon Wars, the time when the dragons return to the lands and good and evil will go to war against each other in order to obtain their own, whether through cooperation or force. The main objective is for the hero (you) to find and tame the dragon (banshee) of this land, alone or with any help you can find. Finding the dragon, understanding how to get to it, and how to use it is all for you to find out. By gaining control of the dragon, you will gain control of the land and everyone in it. Although some people may go against your rule and/or rebel, you should have enough power to keep your people and land under control. (Please note that just because this is the story, this is not what everyone has to do. This is an RPG styled game and you may do anything you wish.)

History of Erestril: The land is natural, green, and flourishing. It is filled with many caves, small forests, rivers, and land formations that remain unexplored by man, although, plenty has its marks of civilization. Though it is normally at peace, Erestril has gone through enough battles, whether between man or beast, and the ruins of some destroyed fortresses and abandoned war machines still lay untouched. Now, it is time again for the land to go to war. With the return of the Dragons, both good and evil will no doubt fight for the companionship of the Dragon of this land.

(All standard weapons will run out of arrows or will just break down over time when used, multiple ones can be found on the map)
    Standard Weapons
Torch: Represented by the plasma pistol. It can provide sufficient light and is the starting weapon for everyone. It can also be used as a weapon since it is a fire but has a limited amount.
Flares: Represented by plasma grenades, they can light up an area for a short moment or burn down people.
Longsword: Represented by the energy sword. It is a fast and very effective close range weapon.
Warhammer: Represented by the gravity hammer. It is a slow weapon but has a small area of effect at close range capable of killing/damaging multiple people.
Longbow: Represented by the DMR. It is effective for killing enemies at longer ranges but will not kill enemies nearly as fast as a sword or hammer.
Crossbow: Represented by the needle rifle. It is less powerful then the longbow but has a faster fire rate and can tear people to shreds with enough shots.
Improved Longbow: Represented by the sniper rifle, this bow is much more powerful and effective at ranges then any other, but contains little ammo and is hard to find.

(All magic weapons will lose their charge after too much usage, only 1 of each is on the map)
    Magic Weapons
The Razor: Represented by the needler, its shots can follow enemy targets when at close ranges and will explode after enough needles are shot into an enemy.
Fire Rod: Represented by the focus rifle, it can shoot out a line of fire.
Dragon's Fury: Represented by the concussion rifle, it is capable of shooting fireballs.
Mage's Gift: Represented by the plasma launcher, it is capable of firing magical, explosive orbs that can follow and stick to targets.

    Animals/Vehicles
Horse: Represented by the mongoose, horses can be found in the town stables. They are a great way of fast transportation of can hold two people at a time.
Warg: Based off of the ones from LOTR, it is represented by a ghost. Wargs can easily run over and bite people, represented by their boost and plasma cannons.
Catapult: Represented by the wraith, the catapult is mobile, strong, but slow and highly vulnerable to large fires (overcharged plasma pistol and grenades).
Dragon: Represented by the banshee, it the strongest beast in the land. Capable of shooting fireballs, biting, and running over people, it, and its rider controls the land.

    Physical Abilities
(Warriors can only have one of these abilities. Once they reach level 10, ten skulls, they have the strength and endurance to use their abilities without limitation.)

Sprint: Warriors have the strength and endurance to sprint, but for a limited time.
Evade: Warriors have the strength and endurance to roll, but only so much.

    Magic Abilities
(Mages must sacrifice their physical strength and endurance to use magic. They may only use one of these abilities. Once they reach level 10, ten skulls, they can use unlimited magic.)

Heal: Mages can drop down a magical shield to heal themselves and anyone else in it, but must recharge their mana before using it again.
Invisibility: Mages can turn invisible but can only continue to do so as long as they have mana.
Clone: Mages can clone themselves to trick enemies but must wait until their mana recharges to use it again.
Invincibility: Mages can turn invincible but are immobile while doing so and can only continue so long as they have enough mana.
Fly: Mages can fly but only if they have enough mana to do so.

    Player Stats
Armor: A players armor is represented by his shields. The only way to repair damaged armor is by going to a medical/repair shop or finding an altar.
Health: A players health is represented by his health bar. The only way to heal your condition is to find medical supplies, around the map or at a shop, or to use the heal ability.

    Respawn Settings
Items found in shops will respawn anywhere from 60-120 seconds. But, will be mostly common items. Items found around the map will respawn every 180 seconds and will be hard to find and/or get to, but will be better then the items found in shops.

Okay! Now that everything is explained, time to show some pics of the map, Erestril!
(Please note that these pics will spoil parts of the map so if you wish to fully explore it yourself, don't look.)

It's like an RPG/FPS hybrid. Really you can choose to do whatever you want. Explore areas, find better weapons, go on a killing rampage to obtain more skulls, or go for the main quest which is to find and obtain the banshee. Partner up with friends, go it alone, betray your friends, it's all for you to decide what to do.
Also, I'm not really sure of what you mean less blocky considering most of the objects in Forgeworld are walls, blocks, or buildings.

I think he means that all the person put was some blocks in random areas and did not really focus on making it look that great.

Well, I'm that person. But, I assure you I didn't just put blocks in random areas. Each place has its own use and unique qualities to it. It is just that I had to put enough places and areas so that it would spread across the whole Forgeworld. So, some areas are big while some are small, some are more detailed then others. I made as many places, as detailed as I could, with the money and object limitations I had so you wouldn't feel as if there are barely any structures, but you also wouldn't feel as if the structures were rushed or just some random blocks laying around.

But anyways, that main point of this is for the gameplay. It's supposed to be something new, fun, and enjoyable. It's a game made for a large group of people to play together where each person can choose exactly how they want to play it, without bounderies blocking their way or specific objectives that the player has to do.

Any feedback guys? I've waited a few days, but nothing. I would love to hear what people think about this after playing it. Any tips for future maps or changes to this one?
