This is my newest map built up in the mountains. It is symmetrical and yet to be named. I still have to add spawn points and kill/safe zones and test.
Symmetrical? Doesn't look like it at all. Not a bad thing by any means but I just can't believe it. It has an urban yet natural feel to it. Nice building structures and the aesthetics look pretty awesome too. But the only thing I don't really like/get about the map is the grid. Is that just like a window-ish structure to see the (Forge) world? It might just be me but I would suggest changing that if you can.
It is rotationally symmetrical. There is two of everything except the center area. Might be hard to see from the pics. As for the grids, they were used as giant windows. The base of the map is wrapped in rocks to give the illusion that it is on a mountain, when in reality it is just floating above the blood gulch beach. The windows are kind of necessary to add to the illusion, and they keep people from being able to fly out and see things they are not supposed to see. I also think they help to add some color to an otherwise very gray map. It is hard to appreciate the atmosphere of the map without walking around inside it. By the way, nice name.
cool idea with the grid I had the same on a map I recently build on... The map itself looks pretty neat and I think gameplay will be good. Want to see more, what weapons are you using on this map?
You too, Ok, now the grids make sense. But it just doesn't seem to fit the rest of the map. Maybe add some smaller pieces to the top/bottom of the intersected areas of the grid and the floor to add some sort of transferring to each piece (maybe railings?) if that makes sense? But if you need testing, I know a group of people that regularly test maps and could get some runs in for ya.
I will put up a weapons list tonight. I get what you're saying with the grid, but my budget and piece count is extremely limited so I would have to get creative. I'll see where I can trim some fat. As far as testing goes, I would love to get some feedback on this map and another I should finish by tomorrow. I don't want these two maps to end up like my first map.
if you want to make some kind of "border" (which you clearly see as border) out of the grid, just change the height, so one of the horizontal lines is right at the bottom and ones at the top (I think from looking to the picture, that if you just raise it a bit, 2 horizontal lines would fit in) but it's not big of a deal, I think it's actually fine the way it is with the grid and stuff^^ PS: sry if I use some wrong words to describe something my english isn't bad, but not perfect
