Finally came out. So happy. I was sadly informed today that can only have 4 Players in a server. WTF? Yeah i know retarded. Even though its advertised 32 Player Online. But even at that, the game is fun. Controls are somewhat difficult to get use to. What do you guys think?

    240 MSP is worth it!

I don't even think that the 240 MSP is worth it. The default sensitivity seems too low considering how fast you move. The default controls don't seem very well thought out. And I personally don't like the HD look for the game. I think I'll stick to Minecraft.

I tried the demo and didn't care too much for it. I agree with Dave about the default controls. I kept randomly pressing buttons hoping to do something.

Even if you wanted to argue you this^ the best thing to say here is that Minecraft isn't the first game of it's kind. It just happens to be the thing of its kind that is doin **** right.

I might buy a later version.

All this did was make me want to play Minecraft even more.

I actually got a decent amount of enjoyment out of the (very short) trial. There are a couple odd bugs, but other than that FortressCraft seems solid.

Not a fan of Minecraft because of the crap graphics and the griefing. Not a fan of Fortresscraft for the crap graphics....but for 240 MSP might give it a shot. Much less than the $20 it takes to play a game that looks like it belongs on a cell-phone.

Minecraft would probably melt your phone. The textures are low resolution, but they have to be for such an expansive and interactive game. The processor and video card have to render each block, which are only 12 polygons each, but when you consider how many there within the game world they quickly add up.

Personally, I think the textures add their own little charm to the game, but if graphical fidelity is what drives your gaming experience then I would tell you not to dismiss minecraft or older games just yet. Many older games and minecraft offer a great depth of experience and can be rewarding for the player.

    EDIT:
Also, there are many alternative ways to play minecraft to prevent griefing. The first and obvious choice is to play singleplayer, but if you like playing socially with other players then there are many servers that are dedicated to grief-free play. The real trick is finding a community you can vibe with.

    Play nice.

    @ Sec77

Of course I didn't mean that literally. ~_~
I know from hearing people talk about it that it eats up a ton of processing power. I'll admit the ability to build things is alluring, but the fact that you're basically working with two-foot square pixels turns me off. I feel like I'm playing a Lego game or something.

    @ Rusty Eagle

If you can set up servers for grief-free play, how come everyone doesn't do it? From the youtube vids I've seen, servers only hinder griefers by disallowing tnt or lava-buckets...they don't stop them from going around and destructing things by hand. Not to mention the cheat-engines and stuff that let some of them grief at hyperspeed.

There's no way in hell I'd want to put hundreds of hours into a video-game, just to log in one day to find that everything I had worked so hard to build has been burnt to the ground.

Then again...I haven't actually played it. Who knows, FortressCraft may change my mind about this style of game...but it will most likely just be something to mess with when I'm bored and have no money for Portal 2. *cries*

Cause some people aren't smart. There are Anti-griefer plugins like Big brother and the ability to disable firespread. Big Brother can "Roll back" the damage done by a griefer.

Is anyone else having problems joining/inviting friends into their worlds?

Right now there is no invite support, and the reason you can't see your friends' worlds is because the necessary information isn't being sent from Microsoft's server. DjArcas is going to temporarily resolve this issue in a patch that will allow you to input a number for your server and have your friend search for that number to find you. Currently you can only play with your friends by finding them in the Join Game list, and you must be in the same Gamer Zone.

Also, it pisses me off when I see an article about this game and it is titled, "FortressCraft: Minecraft for the Xbox." It obviously isn't, and I'm surprised how blind and ignorant people are being towards this game.

    EDIT:
    You haven't met this guy.
