The map does look nice but couldnt you use the rest of that budget to add some more aesthetic value to the map? the map looks a little gray...besides that I find that you have good cover and an interesting layout that reseambles some of the halo 3 maps...nice job...
I am not that type of forger. I only forge competitive style maps and only focus on game play. It has alot of color and can be played in split screen, not many maps can do that and still give you great gameplay.
I also build strictly competitive maps and aesthetics can be a huge part to helping people recognize areas of your map faster when respawning. I understand this must be a fairly small map only using 4000 credits so it may not be that hard to figure out once respawned.
This map lacks aesthetics, but not color. Color is a good thing to have in a map, it helps people distinguish certain areas and know the map alittle better. You did a great job on the color part. Also, you didn't use much of your budget, MAYBE, if you want throw some more aesthetics in there so it really entices people to check out your map. I really like that you didn't want framerate issues though, it shows that you are more concerned about gameplay rather than aesthetic appeal, which is mostly what comp maps are about. Anyways, this map looks really good. Keep it up.
Salot, you really should have put this in MLG. This thread turned into hell real fast. I'm not sure you people realize what a truly competitive map is about. In an MLG map, you only add aesthetics if it's absolutely crucial to the map. If aesthetics won't help the gameplay, what's the point? This map is not an aesthetic map. If you want aesthetics, there's a section for that. This map almost reminds me of one of the more common designs used in Foundry back in Halo 3, but much bigger. I'll see if I can check it out, maybe get a few games on it eventually, and then I'll come back here for real feedback.
