Yeah the regular stream will be on the homepage (or rather, once the event starts the homepage will turn in to a redirect to the stream page) and is free. The HQ stream is just an upgrade for those who are willing to pay since the SD stream isn't great quality. Won't work on iPod though I'm afraid.

Sucks about Walshy. I wasn't following MLG in his Halo 2 glory days, so I pretty much only know him as Halo 3 Walshy. The guy who received an insane amount of respect and had a whole mythos around him but never really seemed to live up to it in terms of stats. But when he was on though, like the brief period he was on Instinct and the famous time he went into the booth and started naming the next team's spawns seconds before they happened with perfect accuracy, that was impressive.

Hopefully he recovers from this thing and can make a full comeback for Columbus.

Pretty much same with me, though I took some time to look back in to H2 and CE era FB, and I really started to see where his reputation came from. He was a beast at close range and a fantastically clutch all rounder aside from that. I always thought he got a little too much flak about his stats in H3, obviously they were far from impressive in themselves but what he brought to Instinct and Carbon was always very clear to me at least.

Agreed. I'll update the OP when I know who his replacement is, word is that it's someone called Ghetto but I haven't seen confirmation of that yet.

He's not attending Dallas, apparently he's got 'personal health problems', said by people who know him. No one with any credibility has said any more than that, but whatever's up we sadly won't be seeing him on Carbon this event.

    Nice journalist :p
And this is crazy, my boy neighbor just 3-0 final boss. I knew FB wouldn't be to great this year!

Top teams fail, I am disappoint, son. FB need to get their act together, SQ seem to be playing good but Invictus are just better right now.

Is it just me that's finding MLG Reach a lot less entertaining to watch than H3? I'm far from a Reach hater, been supporting it through all the off-season hate, Sprint fan and everything. But damn, this is just kinda dull. Idk, maybe I have to settle in to it.

The only map that seemed to really work with v3 settings were element and zealot, but element isn't even that good of a map. It's just an octagon, with no real strategy, sort of aimless wandering. The sprint slows everything down, people just try to run away. I'm sure after this event there won't be any sprint, and maybe even AA's on the map. I'm kinda leaning towards classic settings just excluding radar and a few other minor adjustments.
And yea, all the underdogs are pulling through this event. I'm glad to see impact and neighbor do so well.

See, I disagree with pretty much all of the above. I hate no AAs. I hate 120 speed (or rather I hate the lack of strafe response it brings), and I think Element is great. Admittedly I think it plays CTF better than TS, but tbh I think CTF is just better than TS in general. Sure it's a very basic 4 symmetrical layout, but did you ever play Wizard/Warlock? One of the most celebrated Halo designs of all time for MLG. I'm admittedly cooling a little on Sanctuary (one of my issues as actually that it could do with being a little shorter, which surprise surprise Mac's just happens to be...), but I still think there's plenty of room for strategy to develop on it, and as for other maps I think they're pretty good. I agree with the Nexus issues on standoffs and the spawn system not necessarily facilitating the most interesting setups either to play or watch. I have to admit that watching DH vs. BtH was more entertaining, simply because they were both playing a lot faster and idk, just seemed like it was more the way Reach should be played. Perhaps I was just watching FB's play and empathising with their frustration because I'm in the same place as them often enough when I start to revert. But SQ were playing well and it just felt kind of unsatisfying, idk.

I'm not personally a massive Neighbor fan of late, but watching Impact play certainly is fun, gotta agree, and he's my favourite of the 4 to have on stream right now. Hope my favourite of the top 8 can rally back through LB, but I think it's safe to say we're gonna have some pretty unexpected results this event.

    EDIT: Pool winners:

    Pool A: Impact

    Pool B: Instinct

    Pool C: Status Quo

    Pool D: BtH

So tbh the only real underdogs to come out in the WB are Impact, and FB are the only big guns to have fallen off. I can't see the final standings for places 2-5 in each pool, wonder how tD did.

SQ took it. Impact met them in the WBF, got knocked down to LBF against BtH and dispatched them pretty quickly. Finals was a similar deal but with Impact on the receiving end. SQ are looking seriously good, all 4 players shining individually (necessary against Impact) and Enable just destroying. He's back to his teabagging ways and no mistake.

Impact had so many power shifts in each of the matches, but the way Enable was playing i knew SQ was going to win it. I'm sure most of the community is quite happy about the SQ, I'm a little disappointed that Impact lost, but I mean my two favorite teams went head to head and I personally found it a pretty good series.

Yeah, my only real complaint is that hierarchy seemed so solidified that both LBF and the Champ match were basically foregone conclusions from pretty early on based on the starting advantages for both of the winning teams due to previous encounter results. BtH just seemed a little flat, and who can blame them with a mountain like that to climb, and the same with Impact in the Champ match. If there were more ups and downs it would have been a little more interesting, but it was still great to watch. It's not like either SQ or Impact ever had any easy ride vs. the opponents they beat today, but it seemed more like desperately and effectively delaying the inevitable, good games but all to a somewhat obvious end.

But Enable. Kid. Is Beast. Tbh all of SQ are, and so are all of Impact and all of BtH, but damn SQ are good. Flame's Sniper double carrier stop on Countdown CTF was so good, wana see that from his perspective.
