Key points- Accessible crow's nest, working cannons, drivable boarding craft, and planks of death. It is a great team objective map, but it is perfectly adequate as a slayer map too. It is pretty, yes, but even more so it is FUN. I spent every credit making this map and I think I got every credit out of it too. P.S. Welcome to forgehub. Awsome map!!.!! The boats looks great, the ladder and the cannos was cool. But I know its possible to walk on the rocks but is it possible to walk where you drive the mongose/boats ??
No, touching the water will, in fact, kill you (unless you are driving a mongoose). You can hop on the water, but after about 2 hops you will die instantly.
man, i love the Aubrey series! will download for sure. is there like a grid right on the water or something so the mongooses can drive?
Yeah, hoping it will still get some views even though I didn't call it 'YARR PIRATES ' or something. Strategically placed. There is a kill zone right above the two grids so it will kill you walk on it but you can drive.
Oh my goodness GRACIOUS. This map is incrEDIBLE. Not only do they look like pirate ships (as in, almost EVERY detail of each ship), but you also were able to include working cannons on both ships (BRILLIANT idea), lifeboats between ships that you HAVE to take, and can't go on foot (makes the wide ocean feel that more realistic), and the ladders............just....wow. They WORK. SO. FRIGGIN'. WELL. I seriously couldn't believe how easy it was to just climb up the rungs of the ladder up the crow's nest, and then slowly slide back down, jump out a bit, slide a bit, and get back to the floor, completely seamlessly and perfectly. Weapon placement is good too, and the distance between the ships is perfect. Ireally couldn't rate this any higher. The only complaint I have is that the cannons don't very often hit anywhere useful. They either explode before they hit the ship, or they just explode against the sides. If there was someway of aiming the cannons a little higher or something so that the propane tanks actually reach the ship most of the time and explode in high trafficking areas. But other than that, this is an abso-friggin'-lutely incredible map.
I'm flattered! Thanks for the praise, this map is my baby. The cannons are a little unpredictable because the canisters move randomly, and sometimes they turn around completely and try to fight the mancannons. Anywhere you aim them it hits its target about 30% of the time. But rest assured, they can kill, and have killed. When it happens you get credit for it. It's mainly for decoration and that OOOHH!! factor when you get a hit. Also, you can rock-hop if you dont want to use a mongoose. there's a neutral rocket on the center rock. If you are holding a bomb rocking it wont be easy, so I make my gametypes with bomb/flag holder can drive vehicles. That way you dont have to rely on... teamwork...
This map is awesome! It's really obvious you spent a great deal of time and care getting everything just right. The ladders and cannons are especially impressive. Kudos!
