    ~ HEAVY ONSLAUGHT ~

(This is my first post on FH, so.... Mercy, please?)

Hello, and welcome to Heavy Onslaught! This is a firefight game I created to provide fast-paced, hectic action. Here's the basic premise: One life. Hunters and chieftains. Unlimited explosives. Good luck.

Heavy Onslaught can be played with 1-4 people, and is meant to be played on normal difficulty. If you play with multiple people, dead players can eventually respawn if their buddy survived the wave. If you want a real challenge, bump the difficulty up to heroic, or even legendary, but only if you're sadistic....

    Here's the basic game settings:

    Base Player Traits
    • Normal traits
    • Infinite Rocket Launcher / Spartan Laser
    • Unlimited Sprint
    Round 1
    • Randomly ordered waves of Hunters / Chieftains
    • Cloud, Cowbell, IWHBYD are ON
    Round 2
    • AI is somewhat more intelligent; they have better eyesight and hearing, and are a little more trigger-happy
    • Mythic turns ON
    Round 3
    • Spartans lose their unlimited sprint; it must now recharge normally
    • Enemies now do twice as much damage
    Bonus Round
    • Enemies are now completely invulnerable; just try to survive for 1 minute
    • All skulls are ON
I recommend playing on Unearthed, Courtyard, or Holdout.

    Now, how 'bout some pictures?

    Sounds Good

Great job. This sounds like a great thing to do when you'ree goofing off with a couple friends. This is why firefight is so awesome!!

Thanks for the feedback. And I couldn't agree more! Firefight is awesome! I have no idea why there aren't more firefight gametypes posted here on FH.

The first rounds I think would actually be quite easy, because with all chieftains/generals/hunters there are fewer enemies so you can easily keep track of where they are, and they shoot big bullets or have melee weapons that are all easy to avoid. The bonus round, when they spawn in large numbers, however, is a different story.
If you're going to make the bonus round a hiding round, you could at least be nice and make it only 30-60 seconds. I would have trouble surviving that time even if it was possible to kill the occasional enemy who sneaks up to your hiding place. I'm sure you know enemies spawn at random points around the entire map during the bonus round, and will start to wander around after a short time, so unless you manage to get them all following you in a big line (assume for a second hunters and chieftains go the same speed) then you might be able to survive. Otherwise it's just about finding a place where you can camp for the given time.

    Good point

Thanks for the suggestion Pyro, I think I'll shorten the bonus round a bit. The original version of Heavy Onslaught was a lot more sadistic, and a brutal bonus round seemed to match nicely, but since it was made a bit easier I suppose the bonus round should get the same treatment. Also, I understand your concern about it being too easy. That's why I recommend playing on maps that have lots of nooks and crannies / small spaces. Playing this on a map like Outpost or Beachhead would not be a good idea. Give it a shot on Unearthed or Holdout, though, and things can get pretty crazy. (Also, since cloud is always on, your earliest warning that an enemy is nearby is after he shoots the wall next to you)

This is a fun gametype. I like the changes that come with each round, especially the bonus round (nice take on Firefight options). I like the weapons and enemies, also. The Spartan Laser should work well against them. However, I see in one of your screenshots that enemies come from dropships. Since there aren't many actual enemies per round (when you have Brute Chieftains and Hunters), so there should be a lot of time in between waves, which can get pretty boring... I know from experience.
