A teaser at my house. Video when I finish (might take a while) Floor one : (note the water ^^) Bedroom: (again, note the water) Bedroom angle 2 :
I think there's ways of getting mob spawners for specific mobs, so as long as you could get that for zombie pig men it's all about texture changes. I could easily delete the .png file for ladders to make invisible ladders (or edit the image to make it look like a foothold) as well as being able to place the specific mob spawner around rooftops, and editing blocks to look like tightropes as well (just make the blocks thinner, it'd probably be easier to edit specific colored cloth blocks, then add two directions for the blocks to go and have them be thin in that direction). Editing the mob spawners to look like hiding spots or chimneys would work well too, so then it doesn't seem like they are just sitting around ruining the flow. Everything is texture wise (except the mob spawners, but I've seen people use specific ones for pigs for example) I'm no good at coding, but I can tell that this wouldn't be too difficult, you could go the route of mo' creatures and make completely different mobs for guards as well, that are meant to spawn on whatever material you use for building tops.
Thought i would show off some of my new stuff: My house My animal trap... that doesn't really work My 2nd mob trap.. that surprisingly also doesn't work that well
I didn't know the mo' creatures mod let you do that type of customization, I might go check that out. If I ever finish this project I'll probably post a video here.
Erico The animal trap probably doesn't work that well because: 1. The animals can get out at the beginning because it's not deep enough 2. The spawning isn't concentrated there, in order to focus it on one point you'd need to remove all of the grass from the surrounding area - it's pretty funny, Etho did it
I get a fair amount of animals, that's not a problem. But I can't find a good way of killing them.. because the lava grinder burns half the stuff they drop. And I learned that sheep don't drop wool when they're burned to death (which makes sense but I was too lazy to think about it) I'm thinking about killing them manually... but that's pretty inconvenient
Letting them drop a large distance works well, but the items don't get concentrated into one spot very well, water traps are the most efficient killing methods, but are very slow.
Update inbound: Click You can find and tame wolves to act as pets that will fight for you and who knows what else. YouTube - Wolfies (work in progress) Super excite.
Seriously, how many youtube channels do they have!? So many subscriptions... The only thing I'm annoyed about the update is that the Aether mod will probably be set back!
They only have one, but that was uploaded to jeb's personal YouTube because he's the one working on the wolves (Notch is doing the achievements). And then there's the fact that their office is being remodeled so they're all working from home. New Coe's Quest Episode Woo! YouTube - Coe's Quest - E131: Dark and Dangerous (Minecraft)
I'm thinking fire is the best method. I heard sheep drop wool when they're on fire. Plus items don't burn up... I'll try it Edit: That didn't work For the meantime I have a 10 block pit that slightly damages the animals.. that way I only have to hit them once with a stone sword
