    Jacinto is a multiplayer map from Gears of War 2. (HERE is a page for any information on the map and a 2d layout of the map) This is going to be a re-imagination of the map, but it will be very close to the original map. The heavy weapon spawns are in the same location as the GoW map. We haven't thought of a way to do weapon swap like GoW, and it's probly not possible. If so, please tell me and Erupt and we can see what we can do. ​

    Update 3: Alright, so after about 2 weeks of not messing with Jacitno at all, Erupt grabbed it out of his fileshare, we got some games on this, asked for more thoughts, and headed to forge again. My main goal was to eliminate screen lag completely. Since i had to idea on how to chnage this without doing major changes, i pretty much gave up. (it's common) But Erupt had the guts to make those changes that everyone wanted. And we should all thank him for that. "Thanks Erupt :)" Ok, so some major changes were the bases and tunnel from base to middle. Although the tunnel very helpful on navigation, it caused us to use different/more pieces. which caused frame rate issues. The bases were changed becasue well...the tunnel was gone, and different objects to use. Weapons are again placed like in GoW. Sniper on Sniper, Rocket on Morter, Plasma Pistol on Pistol, etc. Erupt has set this up for KOTH and Oddball. Oddball is placed in the center building with 2nades, and the Hills....well I truly don't know, ill tell ya' when i know lol I believe that's all for this update, and I hope everyone is still pumped for this.

    Looks pretty accurate so far, and I really like your choice of piece usage. Keep up the good work, and make sure you choose a good weapon set for the map.

    Ok, so, we made some huge progress today. Finishing most of one side of the map except the base and most of the middle. It looks more like Jacinto now, however, the map has a few changes to make it more suitable for halo. first off, we removed the one-way climb over things. We added a lift to snipe tower and we also opened up a path that is clearly there in Jacinto, but is closed off. But, for the better of course. We also plan on changing Jacinto's bases to be symmetric and smaller than the original. The screenshots I took didn't show up on B.net, so I apologize. Longshot or I will get some pictures up tomarrow. Thanks!

    Great start. I remade Jacinto long before I joined forgehub on Halo 3.
    Looking forward to it so I can camp the grenade room and rush rockets all over!

    Well as I told you guys in forge today, the map is looking great so far. Gameplay looks like it will be great and your object usage and forging in general looks fantastic.

    So you wanna what would be SUPA COOL?
    What if you guys devised a system that switched weapons each round like in Gears? It would be quite difficult and would look lame but whatever, just a thought. Now if you switched weapons between game-modes that could be cool too.

    Anyways, can't wait to test this. Keep up the good work.

    I remember looking at this map earlier today. I really like what you did so far especially the center window structure and the blue light in the water. The layout looks pretty nice and I could see some sick CTF matches going down. I'll keep an eye out for this map in the future because it's looking nice.

    Get up the new pictures, I'm really wanting to see some new changes to the map, it's looking pretty good right now and I would love to get a forge run or game on this.

    The thread has been updated with 5 new pictures. All that is needed now is the bases. Thanks for the comments. And sorry Ticky, the light was removed :p i added it for fun.

    Looking very good, what was the one route that the two of you added? I think Erupt said it was an extra route that is viewable on GoW2 but not playable?

    That route is under the bridge that holds the "Longshot" and "Torque Bow". The path connects from the bridge to the bases while under the main focus of the map.

    Well, I tried to start the bases but we needz moar objektz! Longshot, we need to go through and thin out the map. A few more decorative and blocks is all I need. Everything else is done guys, keep us motivated ;)

    OooOOoOoOo a lot has changed since the last time I checked this map out!! I agree with psycho lets get a test going! Don't know why but the way this map looks makes me really want to play it. Maybe its Gears? idk...

    Ok, the geometry is finished. Spawns and weapons are pending. Longshot brought something up to me today this I didn't realize; this could probably play BTB games. Awesome, right? :D

    And that leaves us with 0 blocks, 0 bridges, 0 inclines, 0 decorative, and 0 walls. Plus quite a few other objects. And a total of... *drum role* like 500$ Woo!

    I'm confused, what is the first picture in the new update post? is that the extra route?

    In the first picture Erupt posted, it's the base and the passage that leads to the middle. The bases are very plain do to..

    • Lack of items
    • Small usage the bases will have (What we think so far)

    Today I went through, thinned out objects and added LoS blockers to reduce screenlag, changed weapon placement & spawn times, messed with the spawns which are (hopefully) fixed now, fixed all known breaks in the map, and other little things here and there. Sadly, I didn't get a chance to test out the new spawns or if there is still screen lag... But we'll see soon. I did get a test in before the changes were made and it went fairly well. Here's the new arc/LoS blocker thingy.
