Remake Foundry

    I (lf jvjason) have recently co-forged a remake of Foundry with Seven O Three. It is the closest remake i have yet to see with about a weeks worth of time put into it. The map has the exact same weapon placement with one minor adjustment with the spikers. the spawns are in the original places and we did our best to replace bubbleshield with drop shield and gravity lift with a jet pack. Although the drainer is no longer in the game we found after play testing the plasma pistol took its place the best. Also the brute shot was placed with a one clip concussion rifle. Our line of sight on the map is as close as we could get it but we are willing to do better if YOU the ( Forgehub Community) will help give feedback and suggestions. Overall the map is aesthetically pleasing with the ring around the top of the map, the fans, our remake of the diesel, and the claws. The jumps are tested and are as accurate as we could get them. We even included the little window jump in back "B" sniper. The playability is unbelievably alike as the original. I have made my own Halo 3 gametype to bring back the feel. Dont hold back this is Foundry at its best on Halo Reach DOWNLOAD NOW and have fun! By the way all weapons and grenades are still the same.

    Sorry to say, But you have a bunch of 403 forbidden images. Only one works. Try using Photobucket or something.

    I realize that thank you i only have one right now if you would go back and look at the pictures that were originally supposed to be there i would appreciate that. Feedback and all comments are accepted.

    truly enjoyed playing this the other day. fantastic remake with unmatched attention to detail and asthetics. all fans of the original map definitely need to check this out. it really is the closest thing to playing foundry on halo 3 that you will find on reach. mason truly is a talented forger. much respect.

    You know a remake of foundry is still a remake of foundry. It's ironic that you've gone and made a thread about how popularity and aesthetics are the reason maps are successful and that it should be about gameplay, yet you're major example of a good map is your remake of foundry. Not only was this one of the more mediocre maps of Halo 3, it's not even your design. Better yet, it's not even a complex map. How can you really claim that your map deserves praise for it's gameplay when you aren't even the one responsible for it's gameplay.

    As well, have you looked at the results of our remake contest? Can you truly say your map holds a candle to the winners? I am by no means saying your map is terrible, but on a site this large you have to realize that the likelihood of someone making something better than you is huge.

    I mean, complain about popularity all you want but whether you are still in highschool or not you should realize that's how the real world works. People don't always get places by their merits alone. Sometimes it takes the friend of a friend to get you to the right places. There are plenty of talented musicians, artists, actors, inventors, etc that spend their life dirt poor because they never manage to get recognized. Tough luck, **** ain't gonna change. If you really care that much then do something to stand out and excel. We've all gotten to where we are through, at the very least, our own merits, and because of this have had the opportunity to improve due to the people around us. It isn't like Forge Hub doesn't offer you the opportunity to better yourself. We have Testers Guild, Review Hub, TGIF, Customs Lobby. Get out there and meet people. If you really care then you'll make the effort. Enough said.

    Well said, very well said. Only 1-2 of the maps entered in that contest a few months ago had aesthetics that caused lag, and the lag that they did cause was either minimal or only caused by looking at the said object. I think it's a bit stupid that people complain about maps only being accepted for aesthetics, when really the majority of maps are getting very popular because of their gameplay. Amplified, Genome, and Amalgam are great examples of maps that became popular because of amazing gameplay. The fact is, not all maps become popular solely because of aesthetics.

    Anyways, back on topic. I like the map as a remake, but the gameplay of Foundry was quite mediocre and always turned out very similar every game. Accuracy-wise, you did a great job, but really, this should only have been an inspiration for Foundry. Foundry had some alright gameplay in certain spots of the map, but those were easily swallowed by the areas with mediocre gameplay through-out the map.

    I've played this, and overall I can only give it a 6/10. You did a good job with accuracy of this map, but the gameplay of this map is almost as bad as the original map. Also, like chrst said, Foundry is not really that hard a map to Forge.

    On a side note, some of your screenshots have expired/been deleted. You should update your screenshots and add them back.

    Wow this looks really good and accurate. The comparison to the pictures of the map are uncanny. I really like the heigh definition pictures, I will be using in future posts.
    Whe I first seen pics holding gun I thought you didn't know how to remove, but now I see it has been done as the h3 pics have guns. Nice work on the post and the map looks excellent. An asset to my collection :)

    thank you for the post i understand it was a remake of a map with mediocre gameplay. with that said i did do a remake so the spawns are the same as the original. i dont claim the map fully as my own, for two reasons: 1st it was co-forged by seven oh three and myself, secondly it was bungies idea. to end this i also understand the map idea is not my own and the map was a simpler map to remake than most. but i would still say (we) put just as much effort into the map as any other remake out there.

    to clear this up i believe i kinda am an opportunity in a way even thought i currently dont maintain the group as i should, but i am the leader of the halo reach map testers group.

    Spawn of Saltine is the leader of the map testers group, actually. (Tester's Guild)

    Unless you're talking about some random unofficial group or an official one outside of ForgeHub, then no one will fall for that.
