Operation: Swordfish Howdy y'all, how's this here Halo Universe treatin' y'all? Well, I gots meself a very 'special surprise' for y'all to come look at... Warning - back story imminent The year is 4062, and everything that had happened in the great war was back to normal and the UNSC ruled everything. But one day, Jim Bob, his wife Sally, his buddy Cletus and the one guy they saw at the NASCAR race the other day who surprisingly was a republican dared to test the might of the UNSC. They stole munitions and decided to go fishing with explosives in UNSC waters. And we're back to normal... Ok, so Operation: Swordfish is a very unique one bomb assualt varient which is situated outside of Forgeworld. The attackers are UNSC F.I.S.H (Freshwater Insertion Squad Hector) units. Their objective is to bring a bomb from their base and plant it on the hick boat. The hick defenders job is simple: FSU with grenade launchers, shotguns and grenades. Now onto some pics to help explain: This is an overview of the entire map from the sky. There are three main routes the fish can take to get to the boat. Red- this route on the right is very straight and easy to pass through but fusion coils drop and eliminate anything where the blue coloring is. Runs must be timed to perfection. Yellow- This route down the middle is very guarded and safe from hick fire. It requires jumping though AND the deathrocks marked in purple will kill you if you climb to the top cuz the poke out of the water. Orange- This route is very guarded from hick fire but the path winds alot and is filled with landmines marked in the brownish color. (Note: the landmines shown are not in the locations shown or quantaties shown.) The light blue at the top of the map marks fish eggs ( sticky grenades ) and the green marks fuel rods that spawn for the UNSC after 100 seconds. Edit: The fuel rods serve as artillery to counteract the turret, which is a very powerful weapon. At the same time as the fuel rods, as mancannon at fish spawn appears. This launches a fish out of the water safely for a few seconds. This is meant so that the fish can take some shots w/ the FRG because the dip is 7x greater underwater and visability is very poor. Also, fish can bring the FRG up near the boat to have greater accuracy. Those are all pictures of the hick spawn, the boat. The boat features: - Three grenade launcher stations each with 15 grenades - The back row of 8 full shotguns - Two health packages - Two grenade bins that have 6 frags in each - A last stand mechanism that requires nade activation (shown in pic 3) - A turret that spawns after 100 seconds. This is fish spawn safe from the destruction of the hicks. The second pic shows the spawning location of the bomb. Unfortunately, the low visability underwater hinders good pic-taking. Hey Berb, great post! However, you did forget to mention the function of the man-cannon and fuel rod's function as artillery. P.S. the "we run on two" shot was a stroke of pure genius, especially because during that game that is what I was literally saying to captain!
I'm not sure if anyone else is having this problem, but the text runs off the side of the screen for me. Is there any way you could fix that?
Thats strange how the flormat is on the pc. It looks just fine on my mac book. Oh and I can re-do that image on photoshop if we have to post this again. I saved it and I am in the lab as I am wrtiting this, I will forward the image.
The game looks very fun to play but does anyone know what a good hight for deep water is without it killing you? Preferablally for the grid

This is looking very interesting and unique. I really like the concept. Seems to be deeper underwater than i have managed to forge. Do u die when u crouch under water? Post looks great and informative. Will download now to see what its all about. Also the boat looks really good and i like the placement of weapons. Great work
No, you dont die when your under the water. if your looking for a good canvas for building underwater, look at the thread on here titled deep water. its under casual maps, or was when i last checked it. I also listed some of the odd qualities of the deep water on that thread.
I dont understand why u as a new member would answer question, i asked author, i know about forging and am constantly on and know evey trick in the book. I know as per pics u dont die in water , but thats not what i asked. I asked if u die crouching, as i know u have to manually adjust floor height to be able to crouch without dying as it is in a couple of my maps. Just feel i need to clear that up!
The water IS actually much deeper than the rest of forgeworld. This is because in this area only did bungie not put a kill barrier under the water. So as well, if you crouch under the water you will not die. The only reason that is the case inside FW is because the barriers act like forgable safe/kill barriers... ( they need the entire body to either be in or out )
You know, if you are truly despite for an appropriate place to create your map, then you should download the map linked at the top. We have walls directly outlining where the kill boundary and you could just delete everything and make it your own! If you choose to do so make note that we spawned the special effects at the back of the map by the "fish eggs". Happy forging!
Keep in mind however, that the F.I.S.H.'s base has an artillery function that spawns half way through the mach and can help to keep the hicks in line! Also if you caught on, the hicks have a limited amount of ammo and it is likely that they will not be able to sustain a full barrage for very long. I would advise that you attempt to play with the recommend amount of people as well as it was thoroughly designed with that number in mind.
Wow this looks like a really fun map. A lot of great aesthetics too, I really like the grenade launcher turret area. It looks like you really spent some time focusing on originality and constructing the map. Good work.
