I wouldn't care if ya did. I don't go around plastering messages on to someone's structure because I don't like it. I keep that **** to myself.

Why not bring something like that to Matt's attention to see how to handle it rather than making yourself out to be an ass.

 

I gotta say, i see why everyone loved AmbientLight mods or whatever, the new setting is so sexy.

You have an item from one of your mods in there, most likely.

 

It's all about maintaining a regional aesthetic. If everyone makes their houses out of wood, at least even the crappiest structures maintain a cohesiveness with neighbouring houses.

The Dirty South won't win "Village of the Year" thanks to MSF.

Anyone else notice the drastically different lighting? I know it was mentioned in the post, but when I actually got to the game, I was quite surprised. I've been testing out this texture pack, removing things according to my likes, and eventually just got fed up with it so switched back to default. When I got on today I thought something had happened, everything looks a lot nicer.

The game now uses McRegion's save format and MrMessiah's lighting engine (with some improvements). MrM's lighting is a LOT smoother than notch's method, although there is an option to remove it because notch actually prefers his method.

Apparently they've always been in the game since 1.2, just extremely rare.

Will slimes ever return to minecraft?

 

It's rather annoying that my mod is getting flushed off of the front page of the Mapping & Modding forum by whiny children asking people to update their mods in their respective threads. FFUUUUUUUUUUU.

I wish minecraft had elaborate dungeons that took time to clear and offered more exciting rewards.

 

You should try Adventure Craft when it is updated to Beta 1.3

 

so i dug a spiral staircase into bedrock, then i made a mile long tunnel in some random ass direction which led me to some diamonds and crap. i think ill take all the stone i dug up and pile it onto the surface.

 

I think we should do something similar to what reddit's Minecraft forum is doing. They had everyone make a new map with the seed "Reddit" so they could all play on the same natural terrain and share ore locations, cool formations, etc. So we should do that in here. Just make a new map and in the random seed box type "ForgeHub" (without the quotes, and it's case sensitive, so make sure "F" and "H" are capitalized. Then press F3 to find your coordinates, since the seed only gives the same world, not the spawn. Make your way towards x:0 and z:0 to find out if you did it right. If you did, you should be able to stand near 0,0 (again this is X and Z since Y is height) and look south to see this:


Now settle where you want and play it as you would normally, but post interesting things when you find them here (and make sure to reference the coordinates).

Is it just me or are the multiplayer servers not working right now?

And PS, for those who arent completley clueless like myself: I think I somehow muted my internet browser, how the hell do I unmute it? Any other applications give me sound.
