Hey all, I've been playing a browser game called CyberNations for about 5 years now, so I figured I would share it with you. It's a nation simulation game where you start your own country from scratch and build it up into a mighty empire. These empires can trade with one another, send aid to each other, and of course go to war. However, unlike most games, war actually means something in this game. If you lose you don't just bounce back, and if you don't have enough stored funds to rebuild yourself, you lose almost everything you built up prior to that. It gives a lot of tension to the game and definitely encourages people to be the best...because if you aren't the best you will likely get rolled and never even get close to the top. This tension has in turn created a great political metagame within the game itself. Because making the wrong move against the wrong alliance (clan) can get you and all your friends killed, there are a lot of back room politics and crap like that which make the game extremely addicting. Unlike most games, Cybernations is very community-based and heavily tied to how your interact with other players. It's not just your skill vs their skill, it's your intellect vs their intellect, and often times whoever is the smarter alliance wins. I am a high ranking member in one such alliance, called Sparta. We are one of the oldest and strongest alliances in the game, and we are always looking for fresh faces. Considering that the game can feel quite daunting to new players in terms of it's complexity, it is smarter to join an already established alliance like us when you first join Cybernations rather than making your own. We can teach how to play the game and protect you from raiders that pick your nation apart in the first week (trust me, you won't survive on your own). That sounds really awesome! I have a few questions though; -Firstly, are there loads of war-hungry people or just a few (I don't really like fighting) -Does your empire exist when you're not online? I'd like to be able to beg my invaders not destroy my empire rather than sign in to find that everything has been destroyed
There are lots of war hungry people in the game, but if you are a member of Sparta you will not be harmed. Also, your empire will persist even if you are not online, but again if you are a member of Sparta you will be safe from raiders.
