So, I finally came back to Halo reach and forgehub in general. I havent really forged much since Halo 3 and this is my first map. I wanted to incorporate water in this and I have always enjoyed infection so I thought I would go with that as the gametype. I am still unsure of a few things on the map, mainly just cover, a few things here and there and a gametype for it. I want it to be a hide and seek out ammo map where the humans are quite helpless and have to work together and find weapons throughout the map. Anyways, enough of that and onto the pictures. This is the spawn for the humans, behind them is a teleporter that spawns 10 seconds into the game, it is just a receiver so the zombies have another route. This is the cave room and the humans can try and hold out here, they wont last to long though. The room is rather large and made entirely of rocks minus the floor. It has several hiding spots. This is the zombie spawn. They can take any of the teleporters that lead to hiding spots on the map that will give them the jump on the humans, if they dont want to take a teleporter they can drop down the ramp and land in the tunnels. The exit of the cave. The first room the humans will see if they even make it out alive. You can go straight, left or right obviously. A rock blocks the path of the center tunnel (quickest route) after 30 seconds so be quick. This is the left most tunnel. It has a shotgun hidden somewhere and it to will be blocked off, but after 45 seconds and not 30. Another picture of the leftmost tunnel, this is the part that gets blocked off This is the right most tunnel, it is the longest route and at the end is the zombies drop down from there spawn. This tunnel doesnt get blocked off and most humans wont live long in it unless they work together. This is the last part of the tunnels before the "dig site". This is a bad spot for zombies to travel and humans alike. Not shown is the attic above this tunnel that zombies can go in from a teleporter and drop down. The attic, the zombies will drop down from here and ambush unsuspecting humans. A better picture. The "dig site", a human kind of haven for their last stand if they survive or dont hide somewhere. Different view of the dig site The back of the dig site, the zombies can jump down from the second attic and get unsuspecting humans. Scenic view Rock wall in the dig site EDIT: Update: Overview Tunnel blocked by rock, not sure if I want to keep this or not, you can crouch under it so all it does is slow you down. Added orange light, it only makes the rocks a bit brighter, the rest of the room is the same. Mainly a aesthetic change. Update 2: Added a second attic in this section. It seemed a bit to easy for the humans to hold out here. I have 1700$ leftover. I will probably be testing this map tomorrow around 5 PST (8 EST) and after im done testing it ill be testing some other peoples maps. So add me if you're interested.
have to say that this map looks pretty damn good! the most interesting infection map I've seen. everything looks a little scary and it gives a "I want to get the F**k out of here" feel wich I think is good in a infection map. as far as I can see the covers look pretty good and works with the map. if you need testers I would gladly help ^^
I like the looks of it, despite the fact that the concept is rather overdone. The FX really set a tone to the map as a whole. I like the ambush points, but I'd suggest cutting back on the amount of explosives. One pair is good to add a little spice and the game, and I understand that you want debris to float around, but it could give humans with projectile-based weaponry a severe advantage over the infected.
The explosives are a little much but, the zombies also have a nice chunk of health. The gametype i plan to make for this will be a game where you actually need teamwork because by yourself you will barely be able to stop one zombie. I will probably go in and space them out a bit or remove some though.
I very much like this. Particularly the shafts that the zombies can drop down from and the floating debris. Are the object actually floating or are they just Fixed?
Its all floating in the water. I might add more but it seems to be good. Fun little fact, the cones lead you on the safest route, so if you follow the cones they lead to the dig site the fastest and if you follow the camping stools they lead to hidden weapons.
Dude this map looks really fun to play in. I love the stick together or you'll get raped kinda thing. Infection maps definitely have a reservation in my favorites and this one looks very nice. I would be happy to test it with you. Quick question though, when the rocks spawn can't the humans just camp the one side or are all of the rocks crouchable like the one?
They just block a path in the tunnel, the zombies still have at least 2 entrances to each area. Some areas have 3 or 4 entrances though, majority of them hidden.
