Okay will do, your not the first to say something about the spikers. I havn't used them in Reach so I left them out and originally had the grenade launcher and concusion riffle spawn there. But I will be putting the spikers there.
Looks very good, and to-scale Ima download this and try and get some customs on it. By any chance, did you make the spawning sided at all? That was one problem with Orbital in Halo 3 was that it had dynamic spawns so people spawned behind people. It isn't as bad on some maps, but on orbital spawning behind people is way too easy and detrimental to gameplay. Oh, I'ma try and send this map to Jeremiah if it passes any Splitscreen/singleplayer lag. I'm sure you've heard of Overkill, have you? We're all trying to gather really good remakes, test them, tweak them, and hopefully get Jeremiah to implement them into the Classic playlist that is aimed at appearing in march
This is very impressive, but did you ever consider using coliseum walls at some points? They hardly contribute to framerate lag at all, and they can save you budget and pieces when placed correctly on an enclosed map like this. They're also great if you don't want to draw attention to an area, since most players will just glaze past them without noticing flaws in the texture etc.
haha I just randomly checked the forum and this is back at the front. I'm happy . Anyway, yes we used colliseum walls where we could. In some spots they overlapped in other sections of the map so we had to make due with what we had. As far as framerate goes its actually decent except for a few places where they lights are and a few other problem areas. I'm working on a better version things are just going kinda slow with it since I got a new job and my friend has just bought black ops and thats all he wants to play.
This map is a much welcomed old friend. From what it looked like you forged this accurately and have captured the essece of Orbital with much precision. The over the elevator shaft was one of the most epic risk vs gain plays which you could take, I'm glad that you tuned it until the same experience is achieved. The only thing which I was bummed out is the monument to the Frigate and to Shaw Fujikawa, definitely not serious about that <--- that would be too nuts.. Nice job though .
Thanks the pit was the most important thing in my mind so thats where I started. I built that then branched out from there with help from my cousin. The two bases at the end are actually the last thing that we did. Thats why they are the least accurate. We started running out of items and we really wanted to be done with it haha.
I tried the map out and I've got to say that this remake looks exactly like orbital, the guns are in all the right spots, everything is to scale, and I love the glass windows like in orbital how u could see people below u, Nice job! Infection would be great on this map.
haha yeah everyone is wanting to play infection on this map. I'm planning on updating the map with gametypes and stuff. Might make a special version for infection.

This is what I hate: A person who offers no valid, logical, constructive, or even worthwhile feedback on a map, and who thinks they can evaluate a map just from the pictures without downloading it and playing it. Also, you seem to have problems with people that create popular maps. Did you ever stop and think about why they have popular maps? Could it be because they actually make, heaven forbid, good maps that people enjoy? No, that's just stupid. You're right, if everyone is praising a map, it must be horrible. It isn't even worth play-testing before reviewing. You're a moron. This map is a great remake. You'd be hard-pressed to find a better Orbital remake, if one exists. All the jumps seem to be the correct distances. I was going to mention the Spikers, but the author already addressed that issue. I only hope that more gametypes area added to this map, because it really is a good remake.
Whats funny is that I'm not anyone well known and this map had over 2900 downloads before the admin made it a sticky. Sry you don't like remakes but there are tons of maps on this site. Go to one of those and stop trolling. I'm sry if you feel inferior just cause my map thats a remake has more downloads than anything you've ever done.
