Foundry Designer Foundry Designer is a flash tool that allows you to design your maps in the foundry before you actually forge them. Update! This just got posted on the B.net front page - check it out - http://www.bungie.net/News/content.aspx?type=news&cid=14182 v1.1 - I've added objective items, spawn points and labels for your map design. I've made a site for Foundry Designer. http://www.freewebs.com/foundrydesigner/ Features 11 objects to design your map with: Double Box Double Box, open Single Box Single Box, open Wall Double Wall Fence Wall Corner Wall Bridge Stairs Fence Box You can also add all the walls sideways. 5 Tools to manipulate the objects after you add them: CW Rotate - rotates the object 45 degrees CW. CCW Rotate - rotates the object 45 degrees CCW. Custom rotate - rotates the object a specified amount Delete - deletes the object Move - allows you to move the object Level changing - this allows you to add an object on one of the four different levels. When you change levels a greyed out area will show you where you can add objects Interlocking - you can interlock items by adding the item you want to interlock on top of the first one. I'm thinking about adding a more advanced way to interlock. Item limit counter - this counts how many more of each item you can add before you use them all up Budget counter - Adding items uses up your budget just like in the forge. Unlimited Budget Glitch - you can enable the unlimited budget glitch in the settings or when you've used up the budget. The budget will continue to count even with unlimited budget allowing you to turn it of again. Grid - in the settings you can enable a grid to help you place objects easier. Hotkeys - by pressing number 1-5 you can change the tool, pressing escape will change back to no tools. Holding control and pressing 1-4 will change to that level. This is an example map I made Here it is If anyone has any cool idea's for features or things to add I'd like to hear them. If you like it click on the to give me rep.
simply, frikkin amazing. i like how you can make things flat or standing and how everything is (or at least seems to be) to scale.
Woah... Nice job. I've been working on a downloadable 3D version, but i'm having trouble coding the whole thing.
I love you. Seriously, this is the best designer out there, way better than drawing it. Can I have your babies?
I remember someone posting something like this earlier and I used to use it. I don't remember who originally posted it, but I used it and it was amazing. Now this "upgraded" version is just as goon and I will soon use it. Thanks bud.
I don't really like it. YOu can't see what you are doing if making an interior, you won't know exactly what it will look like when stacking objects, you can't interlock or merge... But I would say this is great for n00bs who make really simple basic maps...
You can interlock, but not merge with geo. It helps as a basic set up for a map until you can get into forge for the more detailed parts. It's nice as a beginning until Foundry 3D is completed. It offers enough to be a good map starter.
You click on this link You can merge by placing an object on the one you want to merge it with. You can also merge with the map by placing it through one of the maps walls.
This is truly a great work. +rep. If you want to download this, right click here and click save target as. http://img81.imageshack.us/img81/3631/foundryky5.swf
Wow this is BA. I usually dont draw out my maps, I just plan it in my head then make it. If I ever need to do any prior planning though, Ill definitely use this
well I guess that makes me a n00b because I'm about to use this right now. It's exactly what I need to work out a rough floor plan for my next project.
ok, i changed this to a favorite on the Forge Tutorial Master Index. enjoy. one more thing, is there anyway to save without printing it?
Wow this is great, +rep, bookmarked, hopefully featured. You are amazing. I am going to be using this a lot.
