Cowboy Bebop is awesome, Never heard of Samurai Champloo, but judging by the trailer I probably wouldn't like it. It's hard to explain why.

Never heard of Akira, Cowboy Bebop is awesome, saw Trigun a few years ago, I remember it being being average, maybe because I'm such a harsh critic, or maybe I couldn't appreciate it back then.

Also Waylander you forgot Blood plus. I know I'm not as well versed in anime as you are, but I found it to be extremely well done and interesting.

Blood Plus was good. It could have done without the romance though.
