Also if you watch two foot ball players tackle each other then have two rugby players tackle in the same way the rugby players would smash each others skulls in. There is a reason for the padding that is against the rules in Rugby. Also they are not the same sport stop trying to compare apples to peanuts.

Why does a sport's "toughness" need to determine it's quality? I think American Football is a fun sport, I don't give a **** if it's not as tough as rugby, why the hell does it matter? In the same idea, wouldn't Football (Soccer) be considered a ***** sport and thus not as cool as American Football? I like soccer better than American Football, and I don't believe how tough either one of them determines how enjoyable they are to watch
^ and if you factor in frequency of hits than technically Hockey is the toughest sport. (Not counting boxing or MMA). In football the only players being tackled or hit constantly are the offensive/defensive line. Eventually in the course of the play some offensive player will be tackled, whether it is a QB, HB, FB, TE, or WR. That is potentially 1 more player to be tackled (not counting big gang tackles). In rugby only people in the scrum are really making contact with one another and the person who has the ball will eventually get hit (if they don't score). So technically as far as frequency of hits, rugby has less hits than football. In hockey, every player on the ice except the goalie has to check members of the other team for better positioning. 20 minute thirds guarantee upwards of 20 plus hits per game not counting fights that can happen at any time.

armour is more than rules you cant disobey armour. have you ever been studded? it doesn't go through armour but it goes through skin therefore rugby is harder.
