Emollitus Powerplant

    I really like the aesthetics, for a competitive map.

    Replaced the Wraith with a couple of Gooses, and ditched the Revanants.
    Plasma turrets suck imo, and replaced those with machine guns.
    Moved the snipers outside of the bases too.
    Plus some lights for red/blue bases.

    still playing this map like crazy ^^ but I think you need to fix a couple of things. as the other guy did, put the snipers outside the base. and when I played your updated map erlier I noticed the one way shields to the wraiths so you have to spawn there to get them. . . love it! and also put more initial spawnpoints for neutral players so you can play a really big slayer game whitout teams :)

    love the map and think its one of the best forge map on reach. how do you nominate maps for featuring? because I think this one deserves it!

    I love the aesthetics on this map, it really looks like a powerplant. Did it take you long to make?

    thanks :) well I think it took me like 5 days or something. I got some time off right now and dont have much to do allways. so 5 days equals 20 hours or something ^^

    Hi Starfighter ^^

    I've been playing all your Emollitus maps for quite some time now and really love them all. But having played them as much has revealed some minor things that I would suggest that you take a look at before posting the V2:s.
    So I'm going to conviniently enough post what I think you should do on respective map thread ;P

    The third and last map. Emollitus Powerplant!
    I've have to say that this map is probably the most epic BTB map made in forge I ever seen. Simply love to play on it!

    the things you might want to change is.
    spawnings, make more spawnpoints so the map can be played without teams. I know that its not the main Idea of the map but just to make it possible ;P
    second. change the location of the snipers.

    other then that I cant say anything else that really needs to be fixed.

    I will allways keep these three maps and play on them with my friends. they are all extremely fun to play in completely different ways and their originality beats everything else I've seen.

    DeStarfighter is going to be a big name in forging someday.

    I liked your design mostly, but honestly after a little driving I felt this was not a vehicular map. The wraiths have one primary area they function well in, going forward to the other base or backing up, and they seem very overpowering for the team who wins the initial standoff. 4 revenants also seem too much to manuever easily, and in fact I wouldn't recommend any more vehicles that 1 or 2 ghosts per side. Vehicular maps just require a lot more paths to drive, as well as a lot more height variation than a single center area. Focusing more on the on foot part of your design and scaling down vehicles will make getting across the map without being blown up a little bit easier. The only other problem was that the long walkways on each side became massive sniper camping, leading to a severe loss of fun in the frontal lobe through several bullets. I always love how your map look, but the flow and vehicle/weapon placement needs some work still.

    yeah I know what you mean. I'm working on a V2 on all of the Emollitus maps and I recon that all of them will work alot better :)

    Great use of water with the power plant structures. It gives it the feel of a flooded dam's powerhouse. I usually like to stay out of water, but I loved the under-center safe haven. It's key with all the vehicles on that level and to me is a sign of well thought out design.

    The kill ball and large antennas work extremely well aesthetically and they enhance the map theme.

    Construction is top notch. No lag or z-fighting anywhere and it plays smoothly in split screen.

    Issue & Suggestion: spawn orientation was the only issue I had. If you're making changes, try adding some color or objects with good color properties on some of the walls and to either side of the 50-yard line for quick reorientation. And possibly to some of the power columns. Colors seemed somehow muted at the Red and Blue bases. Just a couple of phased in flat 1x5s with the edges showing n' glowin' would help at the bases.

    yeah I know. that is the main problem. it is because of the fx:s im using. I think actually that the only way to make the colours work so you can see them is to use a red/blue light over the bases or something because the other coloured objects doesnt stand out much :) but it all is in the v2 ;P

    nice astectics the maps looks great but looks kinda unbalanced with the 1 wraith vs 2 cobras(if that thier name) if one team was able to jack the other teams cobra then i could see game play becoming very onesided very fast and staying that way for a long time. But im gonna Give the DL and hit you back with anything i find.

    BTW AWSOME maps
    also what with the emollitus thing like all of your maps are named this
    Emollitus, Emollitus tower, Emollitus powerplant whats next emollitus Chinese rocket factory. just joking a bit not that funny but i tried so everyone say i failed now.

    Cobras- Total win on their new name. They are actually revenants, and I agree, too many on such a small map, though the explosive weapons do help it from being under total vehicle control, while also making a player with a magnum seem like a little ant that the wraiths laugh at. The design is great, but gameplay needs work. I look forward to V 2.0!
    And again, Cobras. That name is just awesome, way better than revenants.
