That or he's a member at Se7ensins and has a leaked copy just like the guy in the videos that are being tossed around. EDIT: yup, looks like he is. Apparently it's been leaked for anyone who has a JTAG as I suspected.
Condemned, Training Preserve and Unearthed. Are the names, supposedly. According to the article posted on X360a.
no...because the sources refer to the map as highlands, the picture of a pre-game selection screen says hauts-terre, which directly translate to Highlands, and I think the youtube video of the leak showed the map loading as Highlands.
I didn't say it was official, TSB did. I called in highlands on the OP because that is what I've seen it called everywhere. The only place it is referred to as Training Preserve is the flikr page where the pictures first appeared. Not to say the names can't change, just explaining why we've been calling it highlands.
Is my guess of the low-G area on Condemned being less extreme than Anchor 9/Zealot correct? The jumps I saw didn't look as 'floaty' as those two maps, which could help make it a little more playable, especially as a central area.
I've seen video footage of a kid WITH AN AMERICAN CONSOLE loading the map up and playing on it. It was called HIGHLANDS. I think that's official enough.
While I agree the map will be called Highlands you still can't call it official. Nothing is official unless Bungie says it is. That could have been an early version of the DLC, it could have been a code name so the beta testers didn't have the final map names, etc. These are less likely reasons but reasons nonetheless to say you can't call it official. Highly likely that it will be Highlands, but not official.
Some more maps similar to pillar of autumn mission (a.k.a unearthed) that sport both the hornet and the banshee as forgeable vehicles would be great.
Highlands: Reminded me a bit of Timberland from the screenshots but not in the video. This is perhaps one of the best looking maps I have ever seen! Even without the glassing in the distance, the details in the map itself are beautiful! And oh look, a crashed pelican! Reach was certainly lacking crashed pelicans! Condemned: Watched after Highlands so my jaw had already dropped, still looks pretty good. Sort of like Anchor 9 let itself go! Also, the skybox, awesome. I was thinking it was a star, but then I saw some land... then the moons... fffffuuuuuu... its Reach! This is like the only time you really see the power the Covenant has, theres lots of talk of glassing and you see the glassing beams but thats it. Unearthed: lol, BXR. Again, my jaw had already been dropped by the 2 previous maps. I guess I should have watched those videos the other way round. Impressive generic dusty industrial location. What are those big spiky things? The Anyone else thinks it needs a bit more Chopper Overall, wow. The Noble Maps weren't bad but my friends had to convince me to buy them. The Defiant maps? Can I buy them now? This map pack has got me looking forward to Bungie's next game if this is what they can produce as DLC and they're not going to be tied to any existing IP. EDIT: OK, I need to stop watching these videos, they're making me excited for something I can't have! Last point, does anyone think Halo has a collision with Half Life? Quick Noble, to the White Forest!
No...343 Industries does not have the licensing to work on Halo Reach. Reach is completely owned by Bungie and all DLC is property of Bungie. The Halo IP is owned by Microsoft, of which Bungie is no longer affiliated, but part of that deal is that Bungie still retains licensing over Halo CE, Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo ODST, and Halo Reach.
