Welcome to my new map, The Cove. (v.2 fixed rocket and shotgun ammo) I had several questions when I began forging this map. Can I find somewhere different, somewhere compact, to put this map? I wanted it to be a small/medium map, best suited to 8-10 players. Can I create an effective homage to my two favourite Halo maps, Guardian and Construct? If those two maps met at a drunken mixer for classic levels, went home together, and had the sexytimes, what would that little offspring look like? The answers came as I began forging. Yes, I found the place, the little bay just off the valley. Yes, those two maps come together beautifully. And that Map looks like this. BLUE BASE The Cove Is symmetrical side to side, but the blue team has the high ground initially. However the blue base is more open, and a little tougher to defend. Blue Base front Take the ramps straight to the base, or use the mancannon underneath to gain instant access to the top of the base. Blue Base Rear Red Base Although the red base is lower, it is more fortified, and should be more of an obstacle when attacking. Once again, go straight up the front or underneath, to a direct access mancannon to the top. The man cannon at the front of the red base fires the user straight to top mid, and the shotgun spawn. This will be a hotly contested spot, as this is also a hill destination. At top-mid At bottom mid the rockets spawn, and the Ball will appear here along with an HH drop point. It's an open and risky spot to stay for too long. Bottom-mid rocket spawn I hope you enjoy this map, as much as I enjoyed Forging it. Newbie to forgehub! This is a very nice map. Haven't played it yet in a proper game but the design is great. You've done a good job at recreating the feel of Guardian/Construct...also reminds me of Lockout a little bit. It's begging for a good game of King of the Hill. Nice work!
Thankyou for the comments, I tried really hard to get a balance in this map. After playtesting, most things in this map are working well i think, and it's quite a fast moving map too. It's great that you think this reminds you of lockout, i can't imagine a bigger compliment
Just got to say that this was really fun when I tested it. The layout was rock solid, although lowering and raising platforms in certain areas could lead to more flow, especially when you're going up those flat grav lifts at the bottom. Apart from the weapon clips, I don't think there's a lot else you need to change. Good stuff, man. Btw, Repression's in my sig if you want to have a look at the thread.
Thanks for getting a game in with me on it Matt, it is always a relief when a game goes smoothly. By the way ppl, matts level repression is astounding. Simple but brilliant, this is like a map from matchmaking, and going by most ppl's opinions of the maps already in mm, this would be much better. [br][/br]Edited by merge: Rocket launcher ammo now fixed; down to 1 reload and spawning at 180 seconds, and shotgun ammo also reduced to 1 full reload, all as per feedback Cheers!
Hello! Awesome map buddy. I remember being one of the lucky ones who got to test this out way back when you first made it. Some nice forging. The cannons are so smooth, very well made. Very nice map for slayer and ffa also ctf played really well. Cant fault it. Great map
That's awfully kind of you Timmy, you're a bit of a forge legend you see. Yeah the version you played on with me was a bit broken, but with a bit more testing it came out okay. It IS kinda on the small side though, but about the same size as guardian. any more than 10 and it would be WAY too crowded lol!
Thank you Not checked out the differences yet, will grab another copy and see how u have improved. But I liked it before. It is nice to have smaller maps, this is a nice size for 4 v 4 but still plays well 2 v 2. But as u say anything over 10 and it gets pritty hectic. Will down load v2 & check it out!

I was also wondering if the hills in the two 3-storey towers were becoming active too much, and drawing the action there too much. I wanted the game to play out over the whole map, not just the center.
