    This is for you Titmar... <3 :p


    Mmkay, well. As you can see right above this, this is dedicated to Titmar. Who 'inspired' me to forge this map. And what a map it has turned out to be. It's turned out to be such a map, that I'm submitting it to the Throwdown contest more than likely.


    Well, actually. This isn't the Titmar-inspired map. I started to forge the Titmar-inspired map, then halfway through that one, I got inspired to forge this one! So actually, this is a map, inspried by a half-forged, Titmar-inspired map.


    Confused yet? No? Good. 'Cuz there's more.


    Halfway through my Titmar-inspired map, I realize, "HEY I HAVE AN IDEA!" But you wanna know what that idea is... Ok, so, I thought, "For a 2v2 map, there should be a very advantage-filled top floor, but it should be hard, yet possible to control! But... there should be incentive to leave the top!" And thus, a Hero was born.

    Mkay, so I'm tired glorifying Titmar, so, on to the pictures...

    Anyways, the map is symmetrical, and has 4 lifts, which are easy to camp, but there are 4 of them. So for a 2v2 it is VERY hard. The map is in testing phases, and will be hitting the forums sometime mid-February. So keep an eye out for it!

    And that's where I fall down... I can't forge outdoor/not enclosed maps. I have tried, but I just can't. It's weird. But anyways, perhaps I will make some 'lessons' sometime. lol

    Update:


    The Thread:
    • Updated Weapons List, download link, and added a video in the OP.
    The Map: [2.1]

    • Went from 4 respawn zones to 12 respawn zones. They should work better now, since I based them off of STEVO'S SPAWNING METHOD. Also got rid of some spawns up top, and moved others around.
    • Changed Weapons, now more of a reason to go to the bottom, and more a a variety to choose from.
    • Added a teleporter from the bottom to the middle, [hopefully] increasing flow, as well as two rooms for the sender and the receiver, which made the map a bit larger.
    • Fixed some z-fighting and re-aligned a few pieces.
    • Made the team's initial spawns face the other direction, away from the top lifts.
    • Edited the lifts. It is now possible to send Holograms up all of them without a problem.
    • Now capable of playing Oddball - It's really fun, actually. Not to toot my own horn or anything...
    • Oddball reset hole added.
    The Map: [3.1]

    • Changed weapon layout... again.
    • Also capable of playing Territories and KotH - Not yet tested.
    • Added more signifiers of red/blue side.
    • Added height variations in the alternate lift hallways for more interesting battles and also shorter LoS's down the halls.
    • Added a spawn Cameras for Red and Blue team, as well as more Neutral ones.
    • Reduced object amount in some areas a small amount, as well as adding some objects in other areas.

    Here's the video. More than likely I will make one of an oddball game eventually, possibly a KotH or Territories as well.

    Ah, I played this! very reminiscent of construct... just on a much smaller scale. I liked it alot. Did you fix the problem where I spawned in someones sights while they were shooting? You know, the time where I seriously got killed almost a second after spawning?

    Why thank you. And yesh, I screwed with the spawn areas forever. And I lessened LoS down that hallway, so it should be fixed. I also kinda lol'd at how similar our posts on eachothers' Throwdown map previews are. Though idk if you based yours off of mine or not. lol

    Good to hear you took my feeback into account. Hopefully the map will flow better now. Sounds like the spawns should be better too.

    Yeah, I changed the teleporters into two ramps going up to the old health pack spawn. I'll get pics up soon. But you'll see the map before then, probably.


    Update


    The Map: [3.4]

    • Changed the teleporters into two ramps that go either way. Hopefully prevents camping.
    • Messed with spawns a bit more.
    • Changed weapon layout a bit again.
    • Fixed the health packs (they were previously un-pickup-able.) lol
    • Reduced objects a bit more. Now have around $2,000 in budget.

    Since when were there teleporters? I never saw any when I played it...

    Lol, yeah I kinda based my reply on yours. Also, why change the name? I liked hero. Really, I did.

    I added in the teleporters in a version after you played. But they are gone again, now. And idk, maybe I'll change it back...

    LOl i have the same problems but only i cant forge indoor maps. Ive tried and failed many a time. Anyway sweet looking map would give it a DL but wouldnt have anyone to play it with anyway. But if your ever having a custom on it hit me up on xbl Xgschronicsbest.

    Looks real good. Honestly looks like the style of maps I build. :p

    If it's for throwdown, make sure to check for splitscreen fragment lag. Looks like it might have some.

    Believe you meant splitscreen framerate lag? If so, I don't think it does, at least not from what I saw when I played it. Nothing really should cause any on it... except maybe those widows on the top floor.

    Lol, I have succeeded in one "outdoor" map. It wasn't THAT great, but twas an accomplishment for me.

    Are you trying to imply that this map is inspired by one of yours? lol, because this map is the first of all of mine that came strait from my head, and had no inspiration! So don't take that away from me! lol, jk.

    And yeah, I don't think it has any framerate problems, though it might. I'm working on thinning out the map right now.

    Yeah, and the thing is, is that looking through those windows you can see a max of like 5 objects, so it's no real biggie. If I could, I would replace them, but no other objects fit those corners correctly.

    So, yeah. I'm hoping to get up above $2,000, maybe to $3,000 in budget

    • Tried to get as much budget as possible back.
    • Moved weapons around a bit.
    • Messed with spawns some.
    • Fixed Z-fighting.

    Almost 3,000 budget! Woooooo!

    Lol, sorry. The map fell back to like the 3rd page so I didn't bother updating it. Right now the pictures and video are COMPLETELY outdated. I will update them sometime this weekend probably.

    Anyways... Now the map had perfected spawns and great flow. I'm confident that it's at it's complete best. I just need to get rid of the very minor framerate problem in splitscreen, and were ready to go. Hopefully I can get Schnitzel to help me with that...

    I saw how you had the sniper on the bottom to try and draw people down there. I like the replacement of an overshield in its spot. And then the replacement of rockets up top. Didn't think the sniper was good for this map. Also, I like the jump up's. Very good addition to the map.
    Overall, I think it is a very great map!!

    Anyways, I updated the OP with an awesome banner. Will be updating the pictures sometime this week. I will probably release it sometime within the next week too. Watch out for it!
