I get to spend 2 weeks in my video editing class playing minecraft... And you know, being two assignments in computer science ahead is also good for minecraft playing
Miningbros server is now back online running the latest version of Bukkit. Several Anti-Grief plugins are also now installed and running. Edit: There seems to be some problems joining the server, I'm working on trying to figure out what is wrong.
I've yet to see any squid on my map... and I've got underwater passages leading to my castle wall... even cleared out areas of my map and flooded it with water... and made some areas even deeper. I'm wondering if squid won't appear in water that's placed because i took a bunch of working sponges and soaked up a good portion of water around my castle wall, just so I could work on the underground glass areas... then proceeded to destroy the sponges and flood the whole thing back up. It's also possible that it's because most of the water around me is under ice.
I'm pretty sure squid will only spawn in flowing water, by that I mean connected to a larger, natural body. Also, it's doubted that depth plays a role, I recently saw a flock of squid hanging right up against the coast on the surface of the water, in my SP game. I honestly don't see what's so bad about building with cobble. Not only is it one of the game's most abundant resources but, building a simple house/cottage out of cobble doesn't look to bad. If properly furnished with doors, windows, etc. As well as paintings and a carpet or two on the inside, it looks nice. Also, the texture plays a big role, playing on Mixcraft currently and it isn't hideous but I personally preferred the look of the Albion pack and all of its offerings.
I think I read that squids spawn on the surface of a body of water but promptly sink because they can't swim up.
I thought that I read that squid can only spawn in water 2 blocks deep... As for cobblestone, it seems like a fairly weak choice ( meaning it's fairly easy to destroy ) and to me, looks hideous using default textures... but cobblestone doesn't burn and looks great with some texture packs... plus like sleazy said, it's abundant and easily available.
Cobblestone can look great using the default textures IF combined with other materials. On a different note, ive been playing alot less minecraft lately. I need to get back into it...
Anyone watching the team aVo videos? They're attacking the reddit servers, and they're all like "U mad reddit?". But really, it's pretty funny
It makes me mad, they get mad ultimately for the reason that they are trying to get back against. Literally in the beginning of the video, the guy narrating said "All of these people are childish" and then he goes and bans people because of "furry" and "badmin." And then the griefing begins. ****ing hypocrites.
That's the exact reaction they are wanting. It's called trolling. The reason they are doing it is because reddit thinks they are untrollable, but by the reactions of the users, that's obviously not the case, which makes it for great watching.
yeah, I watched all of them last night with a friend. They are really funny, but at the same time, I agree; all the hours of work that people put into building those things was destroyed in a few minutes for the amusement of a few people. It's pretty selfish.
