I "played"... If by play you mean get into a lobby, and the game is about to start when suddenly "The game lobby has disbanded" or whatever the message comes up. Did that to me for a few days now. >.>
Yeah, it seemed to work on Saturday, but around Saturday evening and continuing until now it hasn't worked. Get in any games before that?
At first I was like "Okay this is a little wonky" and then once I got used to it I got addicted. Can't wait for the full game since playing the same map over and over does get boring. I do hope the sniper is more useful when it's in its element. Kinda hard to get a good feel for it when Skyline is pretty much all close quarters.
I've played a few games of it. Apart from being absolutely terrible at the game, it's pretty good, but I find the controls to be a bit clunky and slow to respond. One thing I am hoping for is all those glitches and stuff with searching for games and joining lobbies stops. Also, search times - those are a pain in this game.
Halo had freaky sexy time with Call Of Duty. Call of Duty had an affair with Battlefield. Halo did the same. For some reason Biology cant explain, they all had a baby, and named it Crysis 2. As Crysis grew older, he developed some material of his own, along with what looks like an incredible campaign. When he finally turned legal on March 25th, the gaming world was complete. Long story short, the demo is amazing (Granted there are some MM problems) and the full game will be insane.
"It's a demo, this is the final build!" These claims all false, the demo we're playing is a beta build that has seen several tweaks to date. This doesn't surprise me when considering some of the nonsense in multi-player, for example the melee system and matchmaking it self. I've been nothing short of impressed with Crysis 2 thus far, aside from the very awkward melee system, of course. It brings a very frenetic, fast-paced shooter to the table with qualities that make both CoD and Halo two very successful franchises. I didn't have a chance to play 'Pier 17' the night it was available (heard good things about it), however 'Skyline' is exactly what I had anticipated, amazing. The Timesplitters team were notorious for exquisite map design and failed to disappoint me with this map. Can't wait to get my hands on the game this March.
Its not much like COD or Halo either. It feels different. But it uses mechanics seen in Battlefield. It doesnt need to play like BF to use the mechanics that make the game so popular.
There is another map called Pier 17. It is a bit like skyline BUT there is a lot more open space and the sniper is more useful.
Question to others who've also managed to play: What's your playstyle? Mine is the constant, exclusive use of a specific suit power. I switch it up between Armor and Stealth depending on my mood. And every time my energy is low, I try to find a good, low-traffic spot to recharge. As for my weapons I only use the SCAR on Skyline.
No What mechanics does it borrow from BF to make it popular The input lag makes the game borderline unplayable
In what sense? I have yet to experience lag in the demo. And saying that, its only a demo that isnt being supported, so there are bound to be problems.
love the demo nothing like picking a sniper class, and using camo as soon as you're spotted. i love it, just disappear and navigate to a different spot to get the drop. I also discovered the magic of the b button, ground punches and epic power sliding. when i first tapped it while running i was like "WHAT NO WAY WTF AWESOME"
When he says input lag he means the sort of natural lag the game has, not so much do to connection but more processing speed I believe. Bad Company 1 had this same problem and it just killed the game for me. It was significantly reduced in BC2 and it was immensely more enjoyable. I haven't played the demo, just trying to clarify HPM's point.
yeah there's definitely a delay between hitting the trigger and the bullet coming out. that delay actually feels great when jumping and everything, it's really immersive. i just wish the controls were tighter with shooting and such.
