Well, appropriately there should be some discussion on the Golden Globes.

Here's the list of winners: Winners! A Complete List From the 2011 Golden Globe Awards - E! Online

I was very excited for Robert De Niro to finally win the lifetime achievement award. On a different note, I was very surprised at The Social Network winning for best Drama, since I thought that would definitely go to The King's Speech, or The Fighter.

Other than that, everything seemed to play out exactly as I would have imagined.

Just watched Salt with Angelina Jolie on dvd. She's been doing all those hokey dramas lately. It's good to see her back in an action role. This movie reminds me of why she's one of the best female action stars.

Watched Takers last night as well... pretty much predictable throughout the whole movie. Nothing special about the movie, just a decent cast.

    This thread shall not die.

I just watched Hoosiers last night.

Coach Carter is still my favorite basketball movie so far, but this film did better than I expected. It didn't really have that "lasting feeling" for me though.

I just watched The Mighty Ducks last night.

I was all sad because the minority group of misfits weren't winning games, but then they started winning games which I guess is a valuable life skill: winning at things.

Watched Wall Street : Money Never Sleeps last night. It was good seeing a couple characters from the original Wall Street. Michael Douglas is back as Gordon Gekko. This movie takes place after Gordon's 8-year prison term from the original movie. Charlie Sheen makes a cameo appearance as Bud Fox, from the original Wall Street movie. This movie's underlying motif is rather about family, than money.

Also watched Splice with Adrian Brody. This movie was more disturbing than anything. It was all about the whole craze going around about gene splicing. The movie makes a compelling argument against human gene splicing. Basically anything that can and would go wrong... does in this movie.

^ Saw that movie too. Good ****.

Just watched The Green Hornet last night. I probably only had about 3-4 good laughs throughout the movie, but that doesn't mean I hated it. It was..."okay".

I was pleasantly surprised by Predators. I had a lot of fun watching it. It's one of those movies you watch with a group of friends and bet on who's dieing first and who's making it to the end and that's exactly how I watched it. Story is what you need for enough action beats. Can't knock the action, it does the original justice. And the actors on board were all great. Overall, Predators; highly enjoyable.

Snatch rocks the ****. Watched for the first time a couple days ago and absolutely loved it. I thought people were exaggerating but Brad Pitt's accent literally requires subtitles in a few parts. Great action, great acting, great story and it all becomes interwoven and ends ever so perfectly. Snatch is awesome, see it.

I watched a movie called Rounders earlier today. Had seen it at blockbuster before but didn't give it much thought. Matt Damon, Ed Norton as well as a number of other great actors. Damon's character has to pay off a gambling debt of his old friend(Norton). What's great about this was I genuinely didn't like Norton's character and I really wanted him to fail. Norton couldn't have played his role any better. It's a surprisingly good movie.

Fight Club is, and probably forever will be my favorite movie of all time.

Watched: Black Hawk Down recently, one of my first war movies ever watched, still just as good as when I saw it as a kid. The action's pretty cool, and the acting is pretty cool, just an enjoyable movie to watch.

Anyone else intrigued by the Tree of Life? Its supposed to be a boy growing up in the 50's and his loss of innocence. What intrigues me though is the sci-fi element of it and the fact that sean penn is the boy later on in life.

0:45, Brad Pitt seems to be taking on the same role as the one in Fight Club. But, it still looks like an interesting movie nonetheless. Anyone see Black Swan? My neighbor's friend does reviews for magazines and gets copies of the movie that he's letting him borrow, and I want to see if I can borrow it.

I don't think just cuz he said 'hit me' in both fight club and this translates into him playing the same role..

Yeah i've seen black swan, great movie but i would have loved for afronosky to have played it a little slower and not quite so OTT once the weird stuff starts happening. Because once the weird stuff starts happening, it kinda turns into a horror movie minus the bad acting and plus some great visuals and music.

Saw The Green Hornet last week and it was pretty awesome. I haven't read an extensive amount of Green Hornet but enough to familiarize myself with the main characters. Regardless of how close they stayed to the source material, they told the story they wanted to tell and it was an entertaining movie. I really liked the few nods to the 60s TV show. Story's fine, nothing too complex or thought provoking, actions is wicked (Kato-vision is a lot of fun to watch) and Seth Rogan actually does a pretty good.

    What more were you expecting?

I agree. I was expecting something more like Independence Day... some kind of sci-fi action flick with aliens invading Earth. Instead we get a movie more or less about racism... dressed up as an alien sci-fi movie.

Somewhat ironically, watching It's Kind of a Funny Story made me extremely depressed.

    Watched Tangled yesterday.

I expected better, but it's still good nonetheless. However, there are a bit too many cliche moments for me.

...That's why it was good. Don't watch movies that get awards nominations if you want Independence Day style bang boom pow explosion lazerbeams.
