Veridian Veridian 1 Flag Veridian started out as a asymmetrical room based map, but early on i decided to change it up and make this a small symmetrical arena type map. The most notable thing about the map is the use of the circular ramps with the tin cups on top thus making a grassy area for the tree. Also, the bridges is the background spawn according to which gametype. In CTF and Assault games, the bridges will spawn with no railing. In Slayer and Oddball, the bridges spawn with railings. Weapons: DMR - x5 Needle Rifle - x4 Frag Grenade - x4 Plasma Grenade - x4 Armor Abilities: Evade - x1 *v1 Pictures removed to make from for v2 pictures* Veridian Veridian 1 Flag Major thanks to all the testers, and all the people who gave feed back. So, I can't remember everyone that helped out with forging and i don't wanna say thanks to one person and not the other, so i will say thanks to everyone! ======================== v2 Update - - Some minor aesthetic changes - Added Territories and 1 Flag (Replicates Countdown's Style) - Little spawn work - Added a jump up into the wide window of the bases - Removed Armour Lock and Hologram and replaced them with Evade v2 Pictures - =============== Updated to v3 -- - Minor aesthetic changes - Added KOTH ---- Hill Rotation: -Bridge side -Blue base -Bottom Glass -Red Base -Bridge side -Blue base -Top Glass -Red Base
Seems like a nice really solid map and a tree in a map always makes it better xD Anyways, can't wait to try it out, nice job btw
Gunnergrunt Eat your heart out!!! Veridian is well balanced with flow like a river man i got this off of the custom search, Me and the homies ran some TS, and FFA worked so good we didn't stop playing it till my eyes were itchy and it was 2:00, Monster is my friend.
Awesome lookin' map. Sure, it's a bit of a rip-off for Vanilla, but this map is still amazing even if it's not that original. Good job dude.
Wow... so any map now that includes a tree is a Vanilla rip-off? I hope you aren't serious, because that logic is an epic fail. This map looks great aesthetically, I'll have to download and test it out. I'll let you know how it goes. [br][/br]Edited by merge: http://www.forgehub.com/forum/reach-competitive-maps/107367-vanilla.html There is Vanilla. don't let that guys comment bother you though.
Yea, i went and found it myself, and although GunnerGrunt has trees, our maps are completely different.
No, no no. You took my comment horribly wrong. I didn't mean to call it a ripoff. Heres the message using different words/format: Sure, this map might look like Vanilla at first glance, but the only thing in common with Vanilla this map has is that tree. The game-play is amazing and the aesthetics are beautiful.
There is a lot of drama bs or whatever going on about how this looks like Vanilla, so I figured I would throw my two cents in about it. While this map has one, count it on thing in common (The tree for those who didnt know) with Vanilla, the rest of this map stands head and shoulders above Vanilla. The first big difference on Veridian is that the level design is just better in general. In Vanilla, almost all games end up being a camp-off on the top floor. That problem isnt present in Veridian. The second and most ground-breaking is the perfect framerate throughout the entire map. Vanillas sightlines past the tree is plagued by horrible framerate issues, but on Veridian, I had no lag whatsoever, even with a large party. (I ran a couple customs on Veridian with about 12 people.) So in my opinion, Veridian tops Vanilla in many aspects, and while Vanilla is an excellently designed map, framerate and the ever campable top floor bring it down. I give Veridian a 9.5 (lol I sound so official xD)
I DLed and played this a few days ago with a few friends. Excellent job man, the map it well balanced and very clean. One of the best forge levels ive seen.
Map looks great but I thought I'd tell you, it's against the rules to have an edited picture as the one that shows up in the forum index (don't know what its called). Might wanna change that. Great job on the map!
Played only MLG Bomb on this map and it runs great, not bad spawns, very competitive (with the right people) and i like the tree. i love the tree. only question tho, is at some points in the map there are 2 columns place over top of eachother and if you delete them it helps with frame rate. corner to corner it gets a little laggy. over all great map.
let me start by saying that the massive amount of pictures made my browser spaz out but thats beside the point. I love this map. The aesthetics are amazing and thats rare in an mlg map and it plays good to. The name veridian is awesome and really sparks an interest so good job there. An overall great map.
^lol Anyways, I really like this map. I've had it for a while, and it's always been a crowd favorite. Everything flows very nicely, and the fact that there's no frame rate lag despite the long lines of sight is incredible. You've done a fantastic job with this, and I'd love to see it in the circuit.
this is honestly one of the best maps i have ever played on. i love playing MLG Bomb on this and its seriously an intense map because of all of the action. you have my download and my recommendation to all friends.
Our group played on this last night and it was pretty good. I expect it will get more play time attention. I was surprised at the amount of grenade spam considering this is a MLG map. Not that I don't like that. I don't play MLG so maybe it does have more grenade action than it used to. I ran a local 2 way split screen test on this map and I didn't see any frame-rate issues. That was amazing considering the amount of objects in the map. The 2 player split screen test is starting to become a prerequisite for MM. More people should run it to benchmark their map. Good going.
