Agreed all the way, but so was your [Offtopic] pick of ODST as the best Halo game.

Really, I got that weekly in about 2 hours. (my connection is slow at searching)

ODST WAS the best game story wise; which is what I based by thoughts on.
You can't compare a game without Matchmaking support to one that has it, That's like comparing a car to a bicycle.

    Oh, right the thread :p
I'm probably going to fiend Grifball today to get the weekly

    Golden Tree City Challenge.

Load New Alexandria. Mission Start. Legendary.
    Jump in Falcon.
Fly to an altitude < 100.
    Look for Banshee constantly thrusting.
    Chase and destroy.

As soon as I hopped into my falcon, I immediately dropped my altitude and headed 90º to the right. The area I was in appeared to be a corner of some sort, with building making up the east and south walls... with me coming from the west. I then was heading back west back the way I came from and saw the banshee. The banshee I found was around an altitude of 0, while I was at around 75. I noticed the purple plasma trail behind him and immediately targeted him. Took me all but 5 minutes to complete... 4 minutes of which, I spent goofing around and hoping that the falcon with the grenade launchers would maybe land. About 3 checkpoints went off, all of which happened before I even got into my falcon.

Probably the quickest 3500 cR I've ever received.

For Today's Challenge, Weapon Swap. If you're playing Gruntpocalypse, be sure to die after killing 50 grunts. That way you'll have 5 sprees, and get another 5 for the next 50 in a row you kill. If you don't die after 50 kills, the next spree you get is at 100 kills, and will not be able to get the challenge completed. With 120 total grunts in Gruntpocalypse, Do not go beyond 70 kills before purposely dying, or the challenge is not attainable at all.

Oh my lord, todays daily challenges are an absolute BREEZE. It's about 4 games of Grifball, I did it in 3 thanks to spawn-camping.

So I finally decided to ***** Grifball and get the weekly challenge done, which was a pain considering I hate everything about Grifball. However I noticed it's pretty decent for Credits. For most of the games I played, I was getting 1000-2000 credits. Not including challenges and Commendation completions.

Hopefully the next weekly challenge will actually be challenging.

Or just play Sniper Attack and die after 10 kills. If you aren't some bad kid, you should have both a sniper spree and a sharpshooter medal by then. Plus, add on the killing spree and you have 3 sprees. Suicide and repeat twice if you want to be sure to get it, though once should do the trick.

The new weekly challenge (Winter Contingency with all skulls on) is gross. I think I might take a pass on it. Lots of credits but it doesn't seem worth it.

Agreed. I was hoping they'd give us better challenges for Weekly's but this is a lot harder than what I was expecting. But 12,500Cr is hard to turn down. I think I might give it a go. I'll just plug in a second controller to make things easier for me.

Fortunately, it's on Winter Contingency... so you can run through most of the map. It also doesn't require you to complete it without dying, so that's another plus. I generally run through until I get the civ vehicle. Drive the civ vehicle in a "S" shaped pattern across the map and just splatter enemies to save ammo.

When you get in the Falcon and travel to the base, get off the Falcon and immediately head up the stairs to the left. There's a grenade and a DMR as well as an armor lock. Clear out the initial skirmishers and grunts, then I usually drive a forklift into the doorway where Kat is working... so I have a nice protected bunker. You can hold off the coveys more easily that way.

When you get to the final stage, use the AR to wipe out the skirmishers and grunts in the first area and the hallway. Go for the Elite when George takes his shield down, but don't rush him so he's not hiding in the final area. After you clear the hallway and the Elite, grab a plasma pistol and DMR. Kill the 4 grunts with headshots. There should only be the sword elite left. Jump up on the wall and plasma pistol the Sword Elite's feet, then shoot with the DMR.

That's how I'd do it, at least.

thanks for the weapon list, was never sure if shotgun, sword, or hammer counted as close range, :p Also for the "kill X enemies in any gamemode" an easier way is to make a gametype in firefight with a bunch of grunts, you have fuel rod with bottomless and do that till you get it, it works, ive tried it

Yeah, but if you're doing challenges, the object is to get cR. Custom Firefight gives you ****. I get a minimum of 1,200cR + Jackpot for every game of Firefight/Score Attack Matchmaking I play. It's the way I can play that fewest games and still make it more profitable for myself.

I've beat the level nine or ten times SLASO, its not super hard. Do exactly what the first quote says, took about fifteen minutes for me.

An easy way to beat the blind skull is a tiny path of opaque tape, right where the reticule is. Just set it up in a custom game beforehand or something. Tbh, I personally just stuck a little piece of torn paper since my old-ass TV is so staticy :p

Either way, this level isn't too hard. Definitely worth all the credits.

Damn, I've been trying the Winter Contingency challenge and having all sorts of problems with it. The stupid part is that I feel like it SHOULD be pretty easy but I keep getting screwed. The entire level up until you get picked up by the falcon is cake - it's easy enough to avoid all the enemies and just drive to the marines. But I got killed in that section a couple times randomly, usually because a grunt EMP'ed my ride. The LZ clear-out isn't too bad though I've gotten killed a couple times doing that too. The next phase (hold ground until Cat closes the blast door) isn't too hard if you just stay inside and take a few potshots, but one time an elite ran in there before the door closed and killed me. And then the last section - blllaaahhh. I can get to the final elite with the concussion rifle, but twice now he's killed me. First time I was hanging back and picking at him with a plasma pistol, but every time he would fire a barrage of concussion rifle shots and force me to retreat. Eventually he did enough damage to take me out. The second time I failed to pick up a plasma pistol before I got to him, so I snuck around behind him with a sword while he was distracted by the big fella. As soon as I lunged for the assassination, he turned around and I bounced off of him comically, and then he karate-chopped me to death.

Man do I hate this challenge.
