I have entered every halo.bungie.org Guilt-O-Lantern pumpkin contests since they started -Except for last years when I entered the World of Warcraft pumpkin contest. Yeah I am very impressed with the glowing door in the WoW one. Looks like a shield door =P Those are really bloody good. =D EDIT: I would like to see what came first for the WoW one
Great Scott!!! U haz teh skillz, man! No seriously, those are freaking wicked! How did you light the things? Whenever I try carving like that, you can't see a thing through the flesh that remains. Still, great work... I'm still ogling!
You have some very good art talent. I'm very sure that you could make a job out of your art skills in some way.
Wow, they all looks awesome, the second one is my favourite. How do find the time, this looks incredibly time consuming and as if it could get very frustrating.
Answers to some questions: Thank you all for your approval! *I normally choose one day to sit down and carve until I finish it. If I didn't finish it in one sitting, the edges would start to curl. *To make the glow shine through the pumpkin better, I scrape the inside of the pumpkin to about 1/2 an inch. Then I take the top off the pumpkin and put the pumpkin on my car's headlights with the Brights turned on. Then I take several pictures and choose the one that is the least blurry. *Yes, those are two "bullet hose" guns. *I found that the deeper I carved into the flesh of the pumpkin, the brighter it glowed through, so I could get highlights. That's how I achieved the Brighter glowing fire look on the WoW pumpkin. *I carved all my pumpkins with an X-acto blade. Extremely tedious, but super fun! -at least, for me anyways. lol
You must be extremely patient, tell me can you withstand watching commercials or waiting in the lobby for half an hour for a simple game of social slayer?
Nice ones. I think I've seen one before on HBO? I don't remember. I feel sorry for those pumpkins though.
Now there is the kicker! I hate waiting in the lobby for a simple game. ESPECIALLY when all you need is one player and it restarts anyway. DAHHHHH!!! lol
I wish I had known these contests had existed. I'm a pumpkin carving guru myself. Your master chief helmet is definitely the best of the batch, mainly because you took more out of the visor so that it would glow brighter. Very impressive.
