Quadraxis *UPDATE* Download link has been updated to the v1.1 fileshare link. Updated screenshots pending. Changes to Quadraxis v1.1 Bottom floor lift replaced with jump pad. Soft kill zones adjusted as there were issues with several allowing you to hide. Rocket spawn time dropped from 2.5 minutes to 2 minutes. Grav lifts at top of map removed. Small crates added to green/blue arches, and red/orange arches. Quadraxis is a 4 way symmetrical map, compatible with all standard gametypes, excluding, infection, invasion and race. Designed with team play in mind, it consists of 5 very defined levels, each with their own unique sightlines and gameplay. There are many ramps, and a vast array of jump locations, to speed along movement throughout the map. Coupled with large open outer areas, I feel this map will offer unique gameplay for any Halo player. Areas are team color for team based games for easy player orientation as well. Quadraxis. I hope you all enjoy this map. And I look forward to hearing what you all think. Once again, I'd like to thank Debo for the help with the bottom floor. The platforms are definitely a great idea. Max Extra, thanks for the suggestion on the lift, and anything else you helped with. Psychosis, THANK YOU, for the help with the spawns, weapon placement and objectives. Would have taken aeons longer without your help. AND Mitona, thanks for not deleting anything. DOWNLOAD QUADRAXIS
Looks like a pretty solid competitive map IMO. You chose an interesting mix of aesthetics and designs. You made a good use of those block pieces like 3x3 or whatever. Overall it looks like a nice vertical oriented map with a layout that is new and refreshing.
Thanks alot. If you get a chance to play it, let me know what you think. I try to make a visually appealing map, that doesn't take away from gameplay. So I hope people enjoy it.
I like this map's height variation and unique feel to it. It doesn't feel like any other map that I've played on, so your originality on this map is very good. The map flow along with the uniqueness in design make this a very aesthetically pleasing map. I really enjoy the jump ups in the last image, though something that I think that you could do better with design is the ramps in the second image. I feel like the 45 degree ramps harm gameplay and to a lesser extent some aesthetic value. 45 degree ramps harm grenade tosses, and in that specific location, it looks rather ugly to be honest. I think that you could be able to use some less steep ramps and sacrifice some space in that area to improve the ramps. This is a suggestion on an opinion that may be intended or unimportant in your map, your decision to alter that specific area is your own.
The 2x2 Steep Ramps, are there intentionally. I didn't want that section of map to be as open as the adjacent sections. And those ramps ended up being a group decision between 5 that they were the best option. Alongside the fact that the steep slopes are aesthetically similar to the tunnel that they are built on top of. They're just hidden by the platforms. Thanks though. There's quite a few jumps around that map that are quite useful in tricky situations.
I find myself not being able to sit around too much. There's so many different sightlines, and ways to get around the map. Really happy with how it turned out. And definitely satisfied with how the spawns play. Thanks again for the help. Hopefully this map gets a little bit more notice. I'd love to be able to get any potential problems out of the way early. *edit* Just realized that it said it's only compatible with territories. THAT is not the case. It is compatible with all gametypes. [br][/br]Edited by merge: Download link has been updated to v1.1 Please see OP for changes.
